15 Year World of Warcraft Veteran faces his hardest Challenge in FFXIV so far...

Ойындар

WoW Veteran vs FFXIV
Continuing our MSQ, we became a Paladin and now, we're facing Titan
#chitor #ffxiv #ffxivvswow
Our Second Trial is upon us.
More WoW Veteran reacts to FFXIV trailers in the future, don't worry, just dont want to get spoiled. I see a lot of people recommending to watch shadowbringers, heavensward etc trailer but I wanna first experience the story for myself
So far my first impressions with FFXIV have been great.

That blue circle AoE at the end was actually your Black Mage's Limit Break attack. Usually (not always, but usually) blue AoEs are friendly and safe, and enemy AoEs are red/orange. Some player jobs drop persistent AoE zones that damage enemies as well. You'll learn them as you go, and will learn to recognize the distinctive casting sound of a Limit Break.

Don't move unless you have to. If you do move, move back to the original spot. There are only a few DPS that have positionals. However, if you have a MNK, try and be kind to them. Every GCD is a positional.

You will get used to FFXIV tanking eventually. Always turn the enemies around so you are facing your team, do not move around too much so melee dps can do their job. Basically: grabs enmity, turn all of them around, stay in one spot.

Exactly. Just keep the boss facing away from the rest of your team and trust your teammates to be able to keep themselves alive (or, failing that, trust that your Healers, or your Summoner/Red Mage, can get any downed teammates back on their feet quickly). Moving the boss around too much actually makes it harder for DPS Jobs with positionals to actually do their job effectively.

Congrats on overcoming the hardest trial in the game: mustering the patience to complete the banquet fetch quests! It's all uphill from there. Sort of. You end up doing the same thing for the next primal, but at least the endless fetch quests for that one make SENSE and are not just arbitrary.

Loving your videos! You're going to want to break the moving tank habits from WoW and try to get in the habit of putting you're back against the edge of the arena. Once you have your tank stance, you won't have to worry about battling for aggro, you only need to know how to tell when you have it and when you don't. By standing still, with your back against the wall, the party will have room to move around and do the more complex mechanics the tank doesn't deal with, including their position dependent attacks.

@@rasmuskristensen9094 that is fine. Do you spend your tomestones of poetic to get decent gear level items? That is the Best way (and extremely cheaper way to get respectable armour and accesories) also, you should mend some materia to it. It Will serve you till lvl 70. (Which you're probably about to reach) then when you're on ShB, just greed every item dropped in dungeons, till you get to Nier and Paghl'tan raids. I would highly recommend you that you get your ponys, birbs, and doggos. You wont regret it. Ps: buy the maps of every zone. It will make your mounts hellafast.

@@rasmuskristensen9094 i'm glad to hear it. One more advice, for more immersive and comprehensive experience do the sidequests of Bahamut coils and Crystal Tower(ARR), Alexander turns (HW) and Omega turns (SB). The story of all those will expand your lore and understanding of many things that happens in Shadowbringers.

Congrats on beating your FIRST Titan... You did it way better than I did on my first time. (I was Landslided a lot... And i was A PLD) Now, as someone above me sayed it, you have to do Titan Extreme (to farm ponys) and Savage (that's the gate to high end content) . Now my advice from a vet Paladin to sprout Paladin: Always keep the boss facing North and standing in the north. (Or in some cases, in the centre, but There's not many primals that need to be placed in the center, yet) Always keep a mitigation active, one at a time. (Sheltron is the best mitigation action that PLDs have, but you have to save it for big hits or big mobs, because you have to fill the Iron Will gauge to use it) If There's more than one boss on the fight, always keep them separated and facing away from each other. Keep your item level as high as posible wether it be with materia melding or buying it from Rowena with Tomestones of Poetics. Eat some food before entering a dungeon/raid/trial to boost your Exp points. It's really cheap in any of the City States.

And rarely used Cure2 except when they had a free-cast. Which isn't a particularly bad tactic at lower levels when you're tighter on mana, but they were hardly casting all the time. But yeah, it was a lot of regen, a lot of thumb twiddling, and every so often a Stone2. Oh, and cherry on top. BLM was hardcasting F3 a few times back to back, but wasn't watching if they were doing that a lot.

  • @psivampire13

@@Luneward They were nowhere near running out of mana. In lower level stuff, I basically never use Cure 1. Cure 2 is the Cure I use. (If I have that skill based on the duty level.) And I always prepare Medica or Medica 2 a few seconds before the party gets hit, so everyone gets healed right after they get hit. It hurts to watch. If they used Medica and Cure 2, they could have had more fun DPsing. Although not that much fun when you only have like stone and aero haha.
