Welcome to Eorzea, new Warrior of Light!!! As a veteran player, I can tell you, you might get overwhelmed with how much stuff you start unlocking, but don't let it perturb you!! Take things at your own pace, and do what you want when you want!! You DON'T need to rush through the content or leveling. Us veterans will tell you not to do that. Also, as a veteran, and as other vets will tell you, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SKIP CUTSCENES!!! The story of FFXIV is the bread and butter of the game, and it is absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! It will make you go through a roller coaster of emotions, and the ride will be amazing and absolutely worth it all. You will not regret switching over to FFXIV.

There's an extended portion of the first cutscene that shows directly what happens after Louisioux passes, of course you should only watch it after completing the ARR Raid series, The Coils of Bahamut.

To those of WoW who are watching this for the first time... Players of both have compared the in-game models and have figured out how much bigger Bahamut Prime is compared to Death Wing... Suffice to say: Deathwing could fit in Bahamut's hand, comfortably.

I know this is old, but this is one of the greatest pieces of video game animation of all time and it still makes me emotional every time, so gonna answer some questions! 2:07 It's a moon-sized prison containing Bahamut, a giant world-ending "Primal". He was imprisoned by an ancient race and the Garleans (darth vader guys) accidentally freed him. They didn't know that Bahamut was imprisoned inside and simply tried to smash the moon into the planet. 6:00 The world's most powerful magicians try to re-imprison Bahamut with magic, but they're not able to. Bahamut breaks the spell then starts to charge a Flare attack, they increase in power like Megaflare, Gigaflare, Teraflare etc but this is beyond anything any non-Bahamut can do. Louisoix knows that they've lost, so he time-skips the heroes (Warriors of Light representing the in-game classes) 5 years into the future and sacrifices himself in the process, hence his smile; he knows at least there's still a chance that the Garlean Empire will be defeated. In the full cutscene released with FF14: A Realm Reborn's launch, it's revealed that Louisoix isn't killed by Bahamut; he channels enough magic through himself that he becomes another Primal, Phoenix, and defeats Bahamut by literally spearing himself through Bahamut's chest. The magical overload then destroys Louisoix and spreads magical Aether back into the world. This is what causes the enormous crystal shown at the end of the trailer. In FF14:ARR Bahamut's corpse is a sequence of playable dungeons with a super interesting story revealing some of the history of the Calamity.

"Only Noobs use Invuns" is the most wrong statement i have heared in a long time. Most high level players use their Invun - because they are lazy and couldnt care to do the mechanic. Also if u pull wall to wall it will make ur healer sweat less. But i personally prefer my Tanks to not use any mitigation so that i can actually use my healing abilitys because every normal Dungeon is hilariously easy and the healers limited Damage Kit makes it really boring if u only have to reactivate ur Regen/Shield every 5 minutes.

as a main paladin there, isn the smae to walk randomly around to nonstop walking but know where u going to make your team mates need walk less, literally i nonstop walking palading but i always in the rgiht spots for my team.

TBH, the opening trailer being "We tried literally everything, including calling on all 12 gods at once. It wasn't enough. We completely lost. The best we could do was teleport the heroes out of the blast-zone, in the hopes that they could help pick up the pieces after the dust settled." is hardcore. Like, _damn_ We lost? I never played the original FF14, and I didn’t even play ARR until Stormblood was already out. First time I saw this scene was back when I still wasn’t sure if I’d stick with the game. Needless to say this cutscene sold me. My god it is one of the best scenes I have ever seen from a game.

How great is it that they made a lore reason why they wiped everything and started over from 1.0 to 2.0? Literally created a cinematic destroying their world and starting over, it's great. This is my favorite game cinematic of all time, probably. People watching with 0 context like it, and the people who know what's going on are hyped beyond belief. I can only imagine watching this appear after the 1.0 servers shut down forever.

All tanks have their own defense cooldowns, but the "immunities" are the oh-shit buttons you use to survive something you really have no business surviving.
