Brock and Misty having surnames is only for the dub, in the Japanese version Takeshi and Kasumi have no known surnames. This also applies for Ash, who has the last name Ketchum in the dub, while in the Japanese version Satoshi's surname is unknown.

Adding to the status effect one, you can actually poison a Steel-type in Gen 2 by using Twineedle, since Steel-types were programmed to be only immune to Poison-type moves

And after all that time, the only way you can now poison a Steel type is to either change it's type or use Salandit or Salazzle since their abilities and attacks allow them to poison steel types and burn fire types if I'm not mistaken.

The pokeball splitting in two isnt just an early concept, it can be seen in the catch animations for Gen 2, as when you throw the ball, it splits open in two before closing back up.

I think Stunfisk is the only Pokémon actually immune to paralysis. Ground type, electric type, AND with the ability limber. You’d have to do some massive set up to get it paralyzed.

The Burn Heal vs Moon Stone thing is because of item ids. iirc, Moon Stone has a different item index number between gens 1 and 2 because... there are more items. It was mistakenly given gen 1 Moon Stone's item index number, which actually corresponds to the Burn Heal in gen 2.

You have to watch videos on Kurt's Pokéballs and how many of them are coded improperly, don't work, or have idiotically narrow ranges for what they affect. Really makes the traditional artisan of pokéballs look more like a rambling looney whose balls barely work. And I love that. Mr Kincaid was a prime example of “twist villain” tm before it was cool, before it was uncool. The guy gets his underlings to jump off the moving cargo ship somehow. The Drapion was a good boss for the game, and we had close proximity to the guy from the start of the adventure. Cyrus and Lysandre needed to take a cue from this guy.

My own Fun Fact: Lopunny can learn Thunder Punch, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, Thunder, Shock Wave and Charge Beam. So close of being an actual electric type.

On fact number 8, it sorta makes sense cause they are inspired in the capsule balls from the gacha machines and the anime or games never explained how a perfect ball opens without a hinge, even the toys fail to replicate them perfectly because if that

It’s crazy how Pokemon can use moves that they’re unable to use and I guess it’s pretty cool

Macro Cosmos being so uninteresting that some people legit already forgot they existed really says a lot about the writing of that whole Eternatus plot

There is a possibility for Electric types to have the paralysis status despite them being immune to it: if you let your Eevee get paralyzed then evolve it into a Jolteon. 😁 (Pretty sure this works with Burn and Flareon as well.) This happened to me when I wanted to catch an Eevee in BDSP - I used Thunder Wave on it then captured it, then evolved it into a Jolteon. It was pretty funny seeing my Jolteon have the paralyzed status!

I got a Fletchinder to sustain a burn through means of evolving a burned Fletchling lol. I even made a backup of the save state with the burned Fire-type

I'm more surprised at the fact that Struggle can CRIT! Imagine you manage to get your opponent to struggle and instead of KOing themselves, they land a *crit* and knock your mon out...

Here's an interesting one: In Gen. 1 a Pokémon cannot be inflicted by a status condition as a side effect from a damaging move if it has the same type as that attack. For example, Normal types can't be paralyzed by Body Slam

8:12 For programming, you don't use the name of an object or entity, but an index number from a list. For gen 1, the moon stone was item number 10 on the list, but they changed it up and the burn heal is item number 10.

I don't blame you for forgetting Macro Cosmos. They aren't considered evil for 90% of the game and, unlike other teams who simply used their status as enterprises of foundations to disguise their nefarious goals, Macro Cosmoa is just a standard corporate conglomerate and the grunts that attack you are just staf from random departments that oleana throws at you with promises of bonuses or promotions. My favorite is the guy who was hoping to beat you and use the bonus to put a down payment on a house

Going along with the Legends Arceus fact, the shirts you start with are from previous games. The male shirt is in XY, and the female shirt is from SwSh

Normalise Thunder Wave can also paralyse Ground types. (But then Ghosts become immune, unless you use Foresight first.)

6:26 Team Snaggem is also in Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness which is where that picture comes from, as that's when they sorta join you and take out the guards at the Cipher Key Lair.

Pretty sure I've surpassed that 345,600 money cap before, via double battling with a healer and a meowth/persian. (Meowth/persian holding amulet coin, of course.) Gen 3, at that. Always had to be sure the meowth/persian wasn't strong enough to one-shot the enemy, had the healer heal the enemy after every attack, and just kept that up for as long as my sanity could last, as I'd just restore power points, every time they ran out. Maybe it was later generation that I managed the healer trick. Don't quite remember for sure. I do know I've ground out extreme numbers that way before, though.

4:47 I mean, they were originally called 'Capsule Monsters' and some types of capsules do split open so it does makes sense for that to he conpected on.

I remember all of the Ranger Series Evil Teams, Team Dim Sun is my favourite of these Evil Teams.

When randos make posts about who’s team y’d join they mostly ignore Aether Foundation. Stuff like Yell and Star gets to be there, but Sun Moon players know there is this team too. The battle the employees theme goes up to 11.

Another thing about the Moon Ball is that every game it appeared obtainable in, Skitty wasn’t and vise versa. So Skitty and Delcatty are the only Moon Stone evolutions that can’t caught in a Moon Ball without hacks or transferring items.

Pokémon Ranger was Go Rock Squad. The Go Rock Quads were just members with a band theme that were higher up than regular members.

The team from the first Ranger game was "Go-Rock Squad". The Quads were their admins and the boss was their father! And in the second game it's Dim SUN, not Dim Sum. Unless youre just folowing the joke the characters in the game make. And something funny about Great Rocket is they have no connection to Rocket at all. Would the Dragnor army from Conquest count as an evil team?

It's not illegal to advertise to children in sweden however you can only do it during the specific advertisement breaks, so not in the middle of a cartoon for example, and this caused some problems due to pokemon being quite merchandise heavy, but ofcourse they don't really advertise specific products in the show, more so the concept as a whole which is probably why it wasn't banned for long... well that's what 10 seconds of googling told me anyway, but as a swedish person It's very surprising to learn that the show was in fact banned as It's most certainly just as big here as anywhere else, trust me on that
