The most important tip is that in double battles, if you use your pikachu's thunderbolt on your partner swellow, you'll activate its signature ability "thunder-plot armor" which allows you to defeat any opponent named Tate and Lisa.

A couple of examples that stuck out to me personally are from gen3 with Ludicolo and Manectric. In the case of Ludicolo, it can learn fire punch, which is really strange since it's a grass/water type. As for Manectric, it's always bothered me that it can't learn fire blast despite having access to flamethrower and overheat; it's also odd that it cannot learn dig, either

B2/W2 PWT speedruns use Pignite; yes, the starter is left not fully evolved.
Primarina is objectively the best starter for sun and moon, because it has the type advantage over all of the kahunas and a good amount of the trials.
@matthewkuscienko4616
Жыл бұрын
It's also worth mentioning that Primarina is the only starter that doesn't suffer from any major disadvantages against any of the elite four: *It has a major type advantage against both Hala and Olivia *Access to ice beam gives you a decent match-up against Kahili *It also gets shadow ball to deal with Acerola's ghosts (don't know how many people are aware of this) *Despite being part fairy, Primarina's water type means it doesn't do too badly against Molayne's steel types; though it's still probably the hardest match-up for it thanks in part to Magnezone

Skipping Gyms: You forgot to mention Brawley in Gen 3. I skip him almost every playthrough. You "hug the wall" strat through the flash cave, meet Steven at the end, get what you need, move on. I always forget about it and have to slaughter poor Brawley before they let me in to victory road.

The thing that fascinates me most about the gym leader skips in RBY is that you are practically free to do all gyms between 3-7 in order, but you HAVE to do Giovanni last, because he just doesn't show up if you have less than 7 badges.
10:13 On a similar note, the super repel is more cost-effective than the max repel. In gens 1-6 plus BDSP, it costs P2.5 per step while in gens 7-8, it's P3.5. The max repel was P2.8 per step in gens 1-6 and BDSP, and P3.6 in gens 7-8.
For Sun/Moon, I used my Decidueye plenty for false-swiping pokémon I wanted to catch while also avoiding self-destructing moves like take-down and double-edge. If I needed to use false swipe on a ghost type, I used foresight. Never had a problem with story challenges and if I encountered a shiny, I was ready. It surprised me that you don't recommend choosing Rowlet.
@gelbblau3379
Жыл бұрын
I love my decidueye but I had lots of story challenges. On my second playthrough with litten it was far easier. But let's be honest Decidueye has the coolest pokemon design that ever existed
6:11 In Gen IV and earlier (and maybe Gen V I don't remember), you need to buy ten at a time, in different purchases, to get the best benefit from premier balls. In earlier gens, if you buy 10 or more balls, you will always get one premier ball. So if you want 30 balls, but 10, then buy 10, then buy 10 again. And that will give you 3 premier balls. This is not the case for newer gens, thanfully.
@BakaTaco
Жыл бұрын
Currently playing through Omega Ruby randomised and as a Nuzlocke. I can confirm that you can't buy 20 pokeballs and get 2 premier balls. You'll need to buy 10 and then 10 again. Something I did learn is that you can get premier balls in the same way even if you buy great balls or better.

As an extension to your first point about talking to everyone for free stuff, another top tip (especially in the first few generations) is that there are hidden items EVERYWHERE. The itemfinder was not very user friendly so I just got into a habit of smashing A wherever I walked. So many poke balls, potions, antidotes and rare candies!
I love that after he said Lechonk as the best starter for scarlet and violet I immediately got an add.

This video has made me realize how mistreated grass starters are. Aside from Bulbasaur, Aura didn't recommend any of the grass starters, and even warned against some like Snivy and Chikorita. It's funny because I love so many of the grass starters and am using Snivy for my BW and BW2 playthroughs against advice. I just love the Snivy line, so much nostalgia, and Ash's sassy Snivy definitely gives it a clear character in my mind.

The mass outbreak reset method doesn’t work anymore in the new versions of the game

In Alola, the best healing item is the Sitrus Berry. You can get 999 really easily and it can be used in battle too so it helps a lot.
Watching an actually serious video is so surreal from this channel now
"Avoid Snivy" No thanks, I love the grass snake.
Hey I’m not sure if anybody else has caught this, but the Legends Arceus shiny hunting method you mentioned is outdated. You can no longer reset mass outbreaks for shinies
i don’t think a lot of people think about the fact that pokemon has unspoken difficulty levels depending on the starter u choose. chikorita is considered the “bad” johto starter, but i like to pick it sometimes as sort of a “hard” mode

2:05 I am actually going to disagree with this very much. I'm doing solo runs in Pokemon Black right now to see how good each pokemon is on it's own and I found Snivy has been my favorite so far. I was a Tepig fan before so this was a shock for me personally. Set up moves are very effective in Pokemon Black, especially since leveling up is such a drag. Snivy gets Growth before the first gym, and late game can have Coil. My final move set was Coil, Leaf Blade, Giga Drain, and Leech Seed. Worked like a flipping charm, I didn't even break a sweat.

The best starter for Kalos is a bit reliant on whether or not you use the Kanto starter (the most optimal of which is still Bublasaur). If you're gonna use the Kanto starter, Fennekin is arguably your best bet because it gets Psychic attacks against Korrina before Charmander gets Flying attacks. Very situational detail, but it's there
Every time I see one of these thumbnails it feels like a really old video
Pokemon really be healing more from normal human drinks than medicine designed specifically for healing them
21. Alex is serious now,oh dear
For those who want a non-memey answer as to the best Gen 9 starter, it's Fuecoco. It's super effective against the two lowest leveled gyms, keeps solid momentum against 3 lategame gyms, matches well defensively against 3 of the 5 Star Bases, and matches well against one of the Titans (arguably 2 in Violet) It's so amazing that some Nuzlockes actually suggest you ban it for your playthroughs to give yourself at least a little more challenge.
Thanks, good video!

Lets go! new video on my birthday
One of my favorite tips that I’ve learned is an EXP trick in HG/SS involving the daycare. They are possibly the hardest games in the series, but this trick makes the game much easier. Put two of your mons in the daycare, then fly to the gym in Ecruteak city, find an object heavy enough to push down the up arrow on the d-pad (such as a book, personally, I recommend Stephen King’s IT), walk into the gym, rest the object on the d-pad, and abusing the system in the gym where if you fall off the ledge, you teleport back to the start, you can have your character move infinitely whilst you do other productive things. I did this over night a couple of times and got my team from level 40 to 100 in the about 4 days.
4:20 (nice) I have been practicing for a long time to name all pokemon in natdex order and this is a really fun site to practise, thanks! I tried to do it btw. Took an hour and fifteen minutes and didn't get the order completely right, but I'm proud

In Unova, I literally sold all of my potions and lived off of only Casteliacones, Moomoo milks, and Revival Herbs. Speaking of Unova, I have another (not very useful tbh) fact: There's only 1 region with relevant gym leaders.
i like how the graphics and editing hasn't changed over the years lmao, the vids looked exactly like this when i first subbed in 2016
ayy i did the pokemon quiz recently too (admittedly not fully, made it to 745 pokemon with most of the missing pokemon being from galar) and i used the same strategies (thinking about all gym leaders, elite four members and champions and their teams, considering categories like the ones you named + regional bugs/birds and pseudo-pseudo legendaries) and i also used weird evolution methods (extremely high levels, trading with items etc) and type combinations (named all of the types and then attempted to name at least one pokemon with each combination before moving on). I'm sure that you may have tried/considered trying these additional methods and simply didn't have time to mention them in the video but I thought I would leave them in the comments for anyone else who is interested in trying the pokemon quiz :)
You should post the video of you naming every pokemon please!
I’m doing a DTQ for my first ever playthrough of a Gen 5 game, and Snivy is my starter. I never knew how bad a Pokemon’s movepool could be. Holy
