  My hot take: I adore chickoriata and maganieum! Even though I forgot how to spell them… but yeah, I hear a lot of people say they are the worst starter designs. I like there design a lot. Although I know they are not great in combat.

  I remember catching an underleveled Dragonair in yellow and training it specifically to beat Lance's Dragonite, I taught my evolved Dragonite Blizzard and swept his whole team with one shots. It was like watching superior technology evaporate an enemy and it was definitely a chefs kiss moment.

  I wanna nominate grass/bug as the worst type, being the only type that at one point had three 4x weaknesses and also has Parasect, who technically has a 8x weakness to fire due to dry skin.

  I'm sorry but being a Genwunner is REALLY bad for me and OTHER Pokemon Fans There are people who have toxic and stubborn attitudes as a Genwunner, like Pokemon Let's Go Genwunner or Let's Go Players, who never respect to every people's opinions, games, etc. except Let's Go games while some others who has bold and respectful attitude as a Genwunner, like Gen 1 Fans or Non Genwunners do, are giving a chance or respect to other people's opinions, games, etc. Tbh, Fairy types don't exist until Gen 6 nothing wrong with that in my opinion. I like Gen 1 too but they have enhanced updates for animations and sprites. Misty returned in Gen 3 and Gen 7 anime with Brock and the final few episodes of Pokemon featuring Ash-Satoshi. Serena is the best companion in Kalos Region, Come on man Give respect to the future love for Ash-Satoshi Iris is the worst companion until Journeys Dawn is also the best too, what's wrong with being optimistic? Cannot run in Gen 1 and 2 but remakes and newer games, Cycling happens in almost all regions. Oh, you thought Omastar is the God of Pokemon, well think again, what if you hear a theme which is: One of the creepiest Pokemon themes? Level 80 Pokemon? History about Pokemon being created? All Rivals from Gen 1 to Gen 9 are Ranked from Weakest to Strongest Like Tierno being the weakest and a disgrace too. Genwunners who gave respect and a bold chance, I appreciate that you move on but if other new designs like inanimate objects are still bad for you, it's all right, there are people's opinions feeling the same way as you or different opinions. While Genwunners with Toxic attitude, FANS are giving you a LAST chance for others to respect you and their opinions, myself included, if not then fine, Fans are REALLY tired of hearing you and have NO Respect for you to walk out and CARE ONLY GEN ONE GAMES so STOP ARGUING OR FANS WILL COUNTER ARGUE YOU. PS: I'm shocked that you thought the series is dead at the end but NOPE, you saw Sun and Moon Trailer and Fans are pleased like Legends Z-A Trailer while Let's Go games impressed Toxic Genwunners a lot.

  Because Hidden power would later become a Special Attack and eventually that move was taken out altogether in modern Pokémon games, Unown is a Pokémon that aged very poorly. Not being able to make any use of its Attack stat because of Gen 4’s special split, to having the move erased entirely in Gen 8. Yeesh.

  In RBY venusaur is a monster. My team excliding legendaries because irl only 1 person would ever have them since they are uniques, would be venusaur, blastoise, arcanine, nidoking, snorlax, gengar

  Chikorita's main color changing from yellow to green is really interesting and explains why it looks different in older games/artwork. I also didn't know it was the most popular starter in the anime!

  I know this video is 8 years old, so maybe someone else pointed this out in the comments but: You trade the Pokemon Ranger manaphy egg to a different copy of diamond or pearl to hatch it, if it's not shiny reload, and send it back to the original copy of pearl or diamond it was transferred to. Then reset the other copy for new trainer id /secret ids and play that one up to where you can trade pokemon again, trade the egg again, hatch it, see if its shiny, rinse repeat.

  I firmly stand by the fact that in Legends Arceus, the intent is that you play as Dawn or Lucas from BDSP (which were supposed to release first) with Rei or Akari being your rival. There are several things that support this from the character select screens mirroring each other to the "modern" room found in PLA's code that closely matches the BDSP bedroom. Even the official website introduces the character art as something like "your character and Rei or Akari" with only Masters calling the time-displaced amnesiac boy "Rei." Seriously though, who else but the greatest Sinnoh Champion would Arceus have any reason to choose to save the past? Especially since clearing PLA lets you catch Arceus in BDSP.

  People were confused on the last one with trying to find Mesprit. Specifically if you were talking _to_ Mesprit. Allow me to explain. If you were asking Mesprit, "If I asked if you are Mesprit, would you say ja," and ja means yes, it will respond with ja, meaning, "Yes, I will respond with ja," which is false, and if ja means no, it will still say ja, meaning, "No, I will not," which is still false. To the former, it's obvious that if just asking "are you Mesprit" it will give a response of ka it would mean no, but the latter would respond with ja, which would also be no, meaning, "No, I am not Mesprit," which would be a lie.

  Cool facts, though I feel like diving into the manga as well as Trainers EX could bring in even more examples. For example, Wes is not the only canonical former member of an evil team; Rosa was a former Team Plasma grunt in the manga.

  I only used 2 of those Sinnoh pokemon back then, staraptor and luxray, and then none for the remake. My starter for Sinnoh is always turtwig, I personally never use garchomp or the gift Lucario. Mainly because I don’t want to put in the work to get a garchomp.

  Just to clear something up. I believe in Let’s Go the Digital Pokédex hadn’t been made yet since we know there are two timelines with and without Megas and we’ve only seen the Mega timeline Red and Blue when they’re older. Blue also talks about how he helped write location data down for the Pokédex on a map during his journey.
