@13:13 He's right, I was stationed there, it's literally it's own city. Took an hour tour with one of my CoC of the docks to see a portion of the docks, saw 4 of our carriers docked at the same time. They might be smaller than you imagined based on the hype, but when you're up close and personal....you begin to understand where that hype came from.

Oml. That dock is so cool! I've never seen something like it. I want it now.

Never been to Cali but Morey's Pier in Wildwood NJ seems far more impressive than that one in Santa Monica, but I guess popularity is what really gets you on these lists.

I live in Virginia and I'm only 2 hrs away from Norfolk and let me say, if you have never seen a aircraft carrier in real life and you can get a tour through the navel base. You can only get so close to the ship's but holy shit they are big! I got to see many different aircraft in the navy and seen most of them getting ready to take off and land. If you ever go to Virginia Beach definitely go take the tour. It's on a nice bus and you can take pictures but not of everything. And they do have a speech bf you get on the bus and they will let you know what you cannot take pictures of. But it's definitely worth it. I had a blast and have took the tour 4 times and I love it. Go check it out

Buenos Aires' Puerto Madero is a cool place too. Massive undertaking in reshaping a dead riverside zone into homes, offices, services, restaurants, and a natural reserve.
