Someone named MKWAWA from Tanzania, he defeated Germany army several time, he was so committed to protect his land in the region found in southern highland in Tanzania called Iringa. And this made Germany to resize the attack and eventually they succeeded to defeat him. To recognize how difficult was the war, they decided to take the skull of MKWAWA to Germany, untill 9th of July in 1954 when they returned it and now resides at Mkwawa memorial museum in Iringa-Tanzania

Sorry, you mistakenly put a painting of King Yohannes IV in the section covering King Ezana. King Yohannes was the king of kings or “Negus Nagast” of Ethiopia before the brutal, traitorous Minilik gained power. King Yohannes IV successfully defended Ethiopia with his right-hand man Ras Alula Aba Nega countless times solely with their Tigrayan armies and forces. These fights were usually back to back with little time to recover but they always triumphed. The great Tigrayan general Ras Alula and the equally if not more militarily great Tigrayan, King Yohannes IV were great warriors, military leaders, and leaders. You can find out much more about them in these two books: "Ras Alula and the Scramble for Africa: A Political Biography: Ethiopia & Eritrea, 1875-1897" by Haggai Erlich and "Yohannes IV of Ethiopia: A Political Biography" by Zewde Gabre-Sellassie. If you want to find out more information on the Axum Kingdom and the Axumites, they're the direct ancestors of Tigrayans, then I recommend that you read "Aksum: An African Civilisation of Late Antiquity" by Stuart Munro Hay because it is the best book on the Axum Kingdom and a better book will only probably be made after all of Tigray, the center of the Axum Kingdom, is fully excavated and studied because only ≤5% has been excavated so far and in the future, (after all of Tigray's pre-November 2020 lands is returned, everything destroyed in Tigray is restored, the victims of the Tigray genocide healed, the brutal siege lifted, unhampered aid and unhampered independent U.N investigations take place, etc.), Tigray will be properly studied and excavated and this will reveal so much more about not only the Axum Kingdom but the kingdoms before it like DM'T and it may even reveal information on Punt as well.

Ramesses II definitely should make it to the list (compared to Cleopatra who has only become famous due to some writer from England writing a tragic play about her...). Greatest ruler in history? That would be a far fetch. Ancient history maybe....but Alexander, Hannibal, Qin Shi Huang, and I daresay Ashoka and Boudica would stand in his way to #1. Indeed, he won battles, built monuments, led his "country" to prosperity, fathered a lot of children, but his exploits are a little bit shy from being the greatest of the greats.

Look at the creation of and advancement of medicine, math, reading, writing, building, philosophical thought of Kmt, etc. the fact that alexander sought to imitate the Kemetyw rulers, and you think alexander, a drunk can compare with that Ruler...how long did alexander reign......you must be kidding? Hannibal was a great General and military strategist, but He was Not a ruler! Usr Maat Ra Stpn Ra was all that and much more! To be more specific the Axum Kingdom covered modern day Tigray, Eritrea, some other areas and had control of Yemen for a while until the person put in charge of Yemen rebelled against Axum. His short lived rebel state was taken over by Persia. The centre of the Axum Kingdom was modern day Tigray and it’s capital “Axum” is also in Tigray. Manuscripts from the Axumite period would name other ethnicities by their name but only the modern day Tigray and Tigrinya people were referred to as Axumites. The Axum Kingdom had a gradual decline and eventually fell after losing Yemen and with it, its trade. After Axum a kingdom that was heavily influenced by it came to power. They were the Zagwe kingdom which was composed of the Agew people. They didn’t falsely claim lineage to Axum and thus were seen as illegitimate by the religious populace that believed in the divine right of kings. They too declined and fell but the next kingdom had to face this dilemma. The religious populace wouldn’t accept them under normal circumstances so they falsely claimed lineage to the Axum Kingdom and their descendants built on these lies with much more lies and stories in the Kebre Nagast. They are the Shewan Amhara kingdom and they had the audacity to falsely claim lineage to the Axum Kingdom as well as the Solomonic line. Unfortunately Tigray has been facing a genocidal war waged against its people by Ethiopian, Eritrean and Amhara forces. Western Tigray, the lifeline of Tigray is still under occupation of Amhara forces that are still ethnically cleansing Tigrayans to this day. There hatred for Tigray that was deep enough to cause genocide was born through centuries of jealousy towards Tigray’s Axumite history and Tigray’s rich history after Axum as well. Tigray shall overcome the Tigray genocide and break the siege and weaponised starvation that is killing many Tigrayans per day. Tigray shall take back all its land prior to the beginning of the genocidal war against Tigray waged since November 2020 and after life-saving aid and all of Tigray’s other necessities are met, Tigray shall surely get independence through a referendum. It cannot stay in the same country with people that committed genocide against it and a populace that fully supported the Tigray genocide. Once Tigray becomes an official country, no longer can Ethiopia claim the Axum Kingdom, many of the countless military victories against Ethiopia’s enemies and much more of Tigray’s history that Ethiopians are shamelessly proud of whilst killing the very people that achieved it. Ethiopia will no longer be a country of 3,000 years of history and will lose much of the things that it is proud off which only Tigray and its ancestors achieved.

I just wanna know why when people think of Africa, they simply limit the continent to the sub-Saharan regions!!! North Africa is in Africa? hence the name? As if one is not Black, he's not African! However, you did include Hannibal and Hatshepsut, but you decided to go with race bending and implying that they were "blacker" than what they probably were... Hannibal, a Carthaginian, was not dark skinned. Finally, while Hatshepsut was a successful Pharaoh and not a warrior at all, I would place Hannibal #1. His accomplishments are legendary and only shadowed by the Roman hatred that represented him both inferiorly and horribly in history books. If I were to place him in history, only Genghis Khan would outrank him.

@@leob.venzen1153 Hannibal was descendant of Semitic people. Not black, not Caucasian, but not dark skinned (it is not a world of black and white - every pun here is intended). his name is a common Semitic name not a sub-Saharan name. Just because he came from Africa does not mean his melanin was similar to that of Shaka. You seem to ignore that north Africa is not predominately black and never was. Berber tribes have been present in north Africa even at 5000 BC. Unless you want to classify North Africa as a different continent ( *Funny you'd find an ally in World Health Organization's African charts-- they obviously don't know what North African is in some data they shared about Covid-19 cases* ), people should understand that Africa is not symbolized by the dark skinned man. It is more than that. It is home to rich cultures of different backgrounds. I do agree that Pharaoh is a Greek word, but it was only derived from a similar word in Ancient Egypt. Also, contemporary science agree that Ancient Egyptians were not dark skinned as central Africa either. They pretty much resembled current Egyptians. The only versions that state they were "negro" (this was a scientific word some century ago) are scientists from 18th and 19th century, and it is an obsolete theory. *I wouldn't adopt this theory if I were you* . Finally, I am not saying they were Caucasians, because they were not, but they were not of same color as Central Africa. And this is a stereotype that undermines a lot cultures and no one is combating it(all Africa is black).

This is Bullshit... you forgot one of the most important person in AFRICAN HISTORY... Menilik the second of Ethiopia at ADWA WAR. Very significant to the entire African continent. First time in history a black nation defeating European colonial power, which led the rest of African countries to fight for their freedom. It changed the course of European colonization for good. Pls, mention that! Europeans, especially Italy talked about Menilik a lot. So, he is well know in world stage. The war happened in 1896
