@@nothandomdlalose3114 Serious question: So how is it the whites successfully settled the land, named it South Africa and initiated apartheid? It's one thing to win a battle. It's another to win the war. You have to realize how the results in southern Africa don't look like a Zulu victory. By "defeat the British" do you mean they won some battles? The video doesn't explain it, but Europeans lost initially trying to take Benin too. It wasn't until the maxim gun they they were really able to conquer and colonize Africa.

@@fideltuda4678 lol ... different african ethnic groups defeated the British in battlles at multiple occasions throughout history on the continentand outside the continent. A simple google or proper research with the latest Encyclopedia is all it takes to get properly informed and educated. As for the Zulu ethnic group, they did defeat the British in multiple battles below: - 22nd January 1879 - A Zulu force of 25,000 makes a surprise attack on the central column who have made camp at Isandlwana. Chelmsford’s column is defeated and he retreats out of Zulu territory. News of the defeat at Isandlwana reaches London and reinforcements are requested. Meanwhile, Chelmsford starts rebuilding his forces for a second offensive on Zululand. - 12th March 1879 - A Zulu force of 500 men attack a British supply convoy at the Battle of Intombe. With only around 100 British troops protecting the convoy, this is a decisive Zulu victory.

The Kingdom of Kush without a doubt was the most powerful military in Africa’s history. Having to usher in the 25th Dynasty of Kemet for over 100 years, to defeating and preventing both the Persian and Roman Empires from conquering their Kingdom, something that Kemet failed to do and their strong military and world class archers earning them the name “Ta Seti” which means “Land of the Bow” from their Kemetic neighbors os nothing short of GREAT

@@AskiatheGreat64 Greece is not just part of European history but world history and it was part of classical antiquity or civilization like all civilizations of Mediterranean world. Greece had an immediate impact in Roman history and throughout all European history and beyond. Meanwhile, the kingdom of Kush had practically zero impact to people in regions below Sahara desert. Kush was just an extension of ancient civilizations of Mediterranean world and Arabian peninsula . Today black Africans, who are searching to build an identity , are going around and claiming or naming as “ African “ everything that took place in African continent and even beyond. And they do so by ignoring every logical criteria and using all kinds of arbitrary claims. Again, geography does NOT equals race or culture!

@@st3019 Well duh, because Europe is part of the world but it is still part of European history nevertheless. Unless you're going to claim that Greece is located in Asia or in Africa which clearly it isn't. Roman history is Italian history and only Italians can claim to be descendent from the Romans since Rome is in Italy. Yeah, some other parts of Europe were part of the Roman empire but that doesn't mean that they can claim to be descendents from the Romans. That would be like a Senegalese person claiming to be descendent from the French since Senegal was part of the French empire. But Roman history is still European history nevertheless since Rome is located in Italy and Italy is in Europe. Um, the Kingdom of Kush during the Kerma period had trade routes with central Africa that would later be exported to Egypt and even had trade relations with nations such as Punt which was located in Somalia and spoked a Nilo-Saharan language, the same language family group with other African ethnic groups such as the Songhai people. And even during the Meroitic period, the Kushites moved further south and had in contact with the Nuba people and was later invaded by the Kingdom of Aksum. And Sudan is literally below the Sahara since it is in the Sahel region of Africa which is at the same latitude with other black African countries such as Chad, Niger, Mali, and Mauritania (Which are both West and Central African countries). Um, black Africans already have an identity mate, there are over 3000 different African ethnic groups that speak various different languages and cultures that both have its own identified respected ethnic groups. I haven't seen any actual African native born going around claiming that, what you are referring to are Americans and other black westerners, not Africans, stop creating a strawman. Also, countries in the same continent have similar linguistity, histories and cultures with each other, that is just a fact.

Good video, because as much as Egypt is African I'm tired of our fixation with Ancient Egypt. We must understand that our continent is a very different place from Eurasia, and the Americas. Tropical places do not preserve archaeological evidence very well, and what was preserved has either been hidden destroyed or stolen and is now sitting in a museum somewhere in Europe. I'm almost 100% sure there were much earlier civilizations that what has been mentioned here. You have to have some civilization and leisure to be able to invent math and writing instead of searching for food and struggling to make a living. Urbanization and civilization are two different things and western scholars don't get that. They look for civilization that they are familiar with but our civilizations are ,Uch different than theirs. Even the layout of our cities in many societies we're based on math that the colonial powers weren't familiar with even by then. So just because there's no evidence of civilization doesn't necessarily mean we didn't have very early civilization in the continent. We must also understand that the time frame for modern humans in Africa is MUCH older and Africa was very different at that time, so all those villages and kingdoms could still be buried under the Saharan sands for all we know and under the modern cities we see today. I'm also pretty sure that much has been buried underwater as well. So expect more discoveries as experts realize that there's a whole swath of history not documented all because some white people wanted to validate their horrible conduct. We must remember we invented civilization and are the first modern human beings, not cro magnon man. And sadly we only have a tidbit of the wealth of knowledge our ancestors had, because the spiritual leaders could access the creator mentally using our ancestral methods and understood mathematics and astronomy way before telescopes and modern mathematics. Even the city of Benin was based on fractal geometry, something that the English had yet to understand and dismissed it as chaotic and unorganized, all the while we were just too advanced for them. And looking at the city of Benin it's easy to understand that the layout is very similar to what Atlantis was said to have. So we must start digging and searching and preserving because we are greater than we think.

The Spanish are the first who rediscovered the Mayan ruins and it was an American who started the archeology of the area. I'm honestly sick of this anti European propaganda. No one has done more to unlock ancient history and that's more significant. Even Africans who so love to shout about humans coming from Africa always seem to forget that the oldest human fossil that was discovered in Africa was by a European and the out of Africa theory was first hypothesised by a German. @@waynemyers2469 IMHO when we talk about Black/African Americans, there are the constant moving challenges they tackle with even in present day. It is not just overcoming slavery and when you convert 150 years to generations, that is literally 2 75 years old people. We are talking about people that have endured: - going from slavery to extreme poverty - the 13th amendment which lead to unfair incarceration which returned them to slavery - a period of lynchings - sundown towns that still exists - the destruction of towns and local economies - the exercise of imminent domain that confiscated earned property - the execution of prominent leaders - the flood of weapons and drugs to a community starved of an economy and job market - laws and policing that disproportionately and negatively affected Black/African Americans. - let's not forget individual racists attacks Today's Black/African Americans have lost family and friends generationally. They have lost inheritances. They have lost properties. Due to the losses, family history and identity was lost. The effort for those caught in this systemic racist storm takes herculean efforts to crawl out and try to succeed. Some make it and many don't. The other groups you mentioned did suffer atrocities but did not have to endure them every generation giving them an opportunity to heal and move forward. If you talk to a Native American, you will see their struggles are similar. Also Jewish people have not forgotten the Holocausts. Not only are there still survivors but they have instilled into their progeny the dangers of fascists. I doubt the Japanese have forgotten although they can thrive in their country. Finally, you seem to look at Black people as a monolith and not acknowledge the amazing accomplishments they have made. Maybe because a lot of the prominent and thriving figures are hidden due to intentional suppression of history. I have to ask, why do people like you negatively comment to someone enjoying learning history more closely related to them? Why do you assume their station just because they enjoying learning it? Who has the issue? The person who loves learning or the person arguing against their learning?

@@magsbayou I know one thing for sure, a straw man exists in a race-free zone, by that I mean all the effort you put forth trying to paint me as a man who resents or opposes progress and education, which is absurd. I'll get back to that in a moment, first, though, from the beginning, let's walk through your argument which, by the way, was well formulated and true in many of it's parts but in my view, fails to check all the boxes or to provide any answers beyond: "look at me, I'm black, treat me special or you're a racist." The first seven items on your checklist are, again, things of the past which have been dealt with and solutions have been found to guarantee they don't happen again, the biggest being that they are illegal as hell and the legal system has been completely revamped to provide quick and weighty actions against anyone trying to oppose them or take advantage of them. In fact, in Democrat run cities things have gone the other way, treating POC with such kid-gloves that crime is through the roof and people are suffering and dying because law-enforcement and the courts have been limited in the way they deal with crime, terrified of being called racists or being attacked by activists or other, left-leaning judges within the criminal court system. To drive my point home I challenge you to provide examples of any of the first seven items on your list that are still happening...beyond, perhaps, some obscure case in the backwaters of the nation that will never happen again, anywhere, I'll bet you can't do it. The only item on your list that is ongoing is the personal, racist attacks and that is a two-edged sword because, you know as well as I do, that violent, racially motivated attacks on whites, Asians and Jews, especially in the cities, far outweigh racially motivated attacks against blacks and the fact that black people only make up 12-15 percent of the population throws this disparity into a harsh light. Coupled to the reality of black on black violence one must wonder about the racial element you are trying to highlight, I mean, could it be that black people are racist AGAINST THEIR OWN PEOPLE? If every time you look up another black man has been shot by a black man is that racism? If it's not, what is it? This is delicate ground to walk on but I'll do it for the sake of clarity: You accused me of "looking at black people as a monolith" but when a relatively small portion of the populace generate a large portion of the crime how are we supposed to perceive that? Besides, the entire thrust and result of the 'Civil Rights Movement" has always been to construct a monolithic apparatus to overcome opposition or inequity: If you're black, you're in; if you're red or brown or yellow, you're in; if you're gay, you're in; if you're transgender, you're in...monolithic? More like megamonolithic! If you don't want to be looked at en masse maybe you should diversify yourselves and climb down off the Democrat bandwagon and develop a more inclusive structure, after-all, that IS what it's all about, isn't it, diversity? Perhaps you should take your own philosophy seriously. (Listen, I've barely scratched the surface of your comments and already I've written more than I can fairly expect you to read but this is a complex subject and to treat it otherwise and leave out the nuances would be a futile exercise. So, if you want me to go on, I will but for now I'm going to go stick some food in my face and hit the bank, etc., take care of some buisness and I'll get back on this this evening, I'll send it now, you can tell me whether we should proceed or not, I'll respect your answer, whatever it is.)

I understand the need for stock footage that represents what you're discussing but you use footage of Roman or Chinese military when talking about African societies and it's a little jarring and out of place. Also, while I did learn a lot from the dialogue, some of the descriptions just didn't seem appropriate like calling the Terracotta statues alien like or the Gods of kush as crazy. Maybe a more nuanced and professional approach might help like saying the Terracotta statues had an unconventional design that didn't match its neighboring cultures or describing what the gods of Kush were really like that made them so irrational in your eyes. These are actually people that existed whose descendants still live and we should really respect their culture and rich history. And then your strange panning of the maps really show a lack of understanding of geography. You talked about Sailors sailing through the Red Sea or down the Nile yet aimed your camera at South Africa for some reason. Are you even paying attention when you throw together these videos?

Some of these are even older than the writing systems in ancient Sumeria and Egypt by thousands of years. Africa is the birthplace of civilization and everything that makes modern humans modern humans.

That’s absolutely a lie. Firstly, just your final statement is totally nonsense Bc civilization is not a trophy. If Africans the birthplace of archaic forms of civilization doesn’t mean that everything we have today was made there . Civilization is not a product, it’s a process. It evolves in time and space. Somebody discover something somewhere and others later in other places discover something else and this is how it goes through history . Also these “ alphabets “ that you mentioned are not alphabets like old Greek or Latin. They are inscriptions like runic inscriptions in North Europe before Christianity. They don’t describe any particular or detailed history or event. No chronology of events , no detailed information, just some very confusing archeological evidence. Where are the books, literature, stories written in the books . Civilization has much more than that.

@@st3019 if you havent even a basic understanding of what these writing systems are then please don't make comments on them. How do you even know how they were used when you obviously didn't take time to understand them at all. Nsibidi is a system of writing used to convey messages even records, many times village council proceedings, and we're more in use before Europeans and and Arabs arrived and started destroying things they didn't even take time to understand. You asked where's the books? Um a lot of these writing systems were used to write the Bible, business interactions, imperial records, Quran, and other things. It's crazy how westerners say we had no civilization yet, and none of you took time to research the fact that Europeans knew about a few during the time they started to impose themselves upon others and terrorize their way through Africa and the rest of the world. Great Mali and Mansa Musa, Ancient Egypt, Punt, Axum, Abyssinia, Carthage, Libya, and other civilizations prove that you guys knew our civilizations and refused to acknowledge them so you could justify your utter barbaric behavior towards people you decided to seem subhuman. I didn't make all this up. These are conclusions from archaeologists. So take that issue up with them. Civilization isn't and end all be all but to say we aren't capable of civilization to justify us being colonized and brutalized, then yes we must push back and stick up for ourselves. Not my fault that you can't deal with it. We also invented art and math. With the first jewelry and adornments found in Africa. As well as ostrich shell and bones inscribed with combinations of notches to aid in the calculation of numbers. You can assume all you want that we don't know our greatness and our history but we do. We know who we are and we will scream it loudly so all can hear. Your false outdated info is obsolete and has been overshadowed by many discoveries that blow this WS narrative out of the water.

Visually, this compilation was really impressive and the narrator has a very pleasant voice and absolutely wonderful narrative flow. Nonetheless, the focus totally on the civilisations Europeans Africa “experts” have acknowledged, excessively researched & written about. The content was partially a bit irritating: 1. As much as the attack on the Benin empire was atrocious, one cannot omit that the exchanged “goods” with ships was about supplying the Portuguese with enslaved war captives - one essential reason for the continuous warfare with other states. Pissed off a lot of folks, so the British could easily recruit other Africans willing to march against Benin. In the long run, none of the empires which benefitted from human trafficking, lasted longer than those kingdoms which did not. 2. The latter (non slave trading kingdoms) are not included, though their greatness in philosophy, artistry & bravery was not less, the most popular were the kingdom of Nri & the kingdom of Kuba. 3. The South stereotypically represented by Kwazulu only. No Mapungubwe, Great Zimbabwe, Mwene a Mutapa (Monomutapa) with their trading connections out China & India? 4. Minor flaw: When talking about ancient Ghana, one slide showed a Fante or Ashanti king from modern Ghana. Ancient Ghana was multi ethnic but predominantly Soninke - totally different people unrelated to the Akan. But not everything can be put in one video. So overall history brought together in an entertaining form. Hope more kingdom vids are in the making - would do so myself if I had the time and the energy for KZread- but as a visual artist, I chose another form of historical storytelling.

Additionally, it is important to understand that the use of images is essential in presentations, and it is vital to ensure that these images accurately represent the subject matter. The images you used did not correctly represent Africa and were insensitive to Africans. This shows that your video presentation did not value diversity and cultural sensitivity. I appreciate your efforts to bring these historical chronicles. However, Kush empire and Punt historical narration are not properly defined. The name Sudan is of yesteryear given by Arabs caliphate likewise Ethiopia by Greek elites of that time. Punt was not represented by the present day Somalia and Kush was not represented by the currentState of"Sudan ". It incorporated the whole North Central and South Eastern Africa. Please known well your historical chronicles before submitting and narrating to your audience. N.B. It's imperative to thoroughly assess and analyze any historical chronicles obtained from Arabs and western imperialism colonialism. The data needs to get hygienic before accepting as historical information. Their historical informations are biased and skewed in regard Africa. To Them Africa does not have history. Our history we told came from over sea. They bending African history to the degree they want it to be. Thanks, to great scholars Dr. Chiek Anta Adiop, the gates to African Renaissance wide open..... Not being of African descent I find it fascinating to learn about the history and culture of the African continent. It is amazing how the world history has been skewed towards Greek , Roman , Viking etc. periods while we have such limited access to information regarding the African civilizations, indigenous peoples and other groups who have made contributions in their own periods to where we find ourselves as humans living in this present time . Not till we develop a world centric understanding we will continue to be mired in pettiness with a narrow focus.

I think the intention here is great, even if the title is hyperbolic and cannot be substantiated. I also appreciate the effort to compile this work. With that said, I remain hopeful that the producers will revisit the content. For example, at 1:16 the narrator asserts Ge’ez is the only original African script. That is flatly false. I also think several commenters have made points that merit consideration when editing the video.
