I used a Fabric Faberware cubby organizer from Fred’s and the basket with lids to organize my ribbons. I set up shoe box bins from Dollar General as workboxes to work out of for making bows, finger knitting, and my glue gun/sticks. I am disabled so my legs and back hurt if I stand or stoop for long periods. I bought two shoe organizer that look like tables. I use one of them on top of a two white cubby organizer from Dollar General so I can sit down. I use my lounge chair and pillows to support my back. I also have a cart. I bought mine from consumercrafts.com. You can find stencil organizers-12x12 & 14x14, small boxes to large, cases and sewing machine covers and organizer/roller.

This might sound really silly, but I repurpose tic tac boxes as organizers for beads, glitter and buttons. My stash isn't big so it works well for me. I label the tops for easy reference.

Creative on the Cheap put one of the small plastic mixing bowl in where you usually mix paint to help you get into that routine.

My grandson loved the bloopers!! I loved the clever storage ideas!

I remember how excited you were when your craft room was done. It still looks beautiful and all your storage ideas are fantastic.

Some suggestions for others: (Courtney, you don’t need these.) cardboard photo boxes make great storage boxes These are frequently on sale at Michaels or Joann’s for as low as $2. Great for storing bottles of paint. I actually used the plastic scrapbook paper storage. I love these so my scrapbook paper doesn’t get crinkled. They are 14” x 14”, clear with a snap to close them.

The second I saw "Save the Clock" I knew lol. I absolutely LOVE the entire Back to the Future trilogy! As for favorite character, it's a hard choice between Lorraine and Marty.

Nice to see someone who has as much craft stuff as I do! Seriously!

Loved this and seeing your ideas. Also loved the bloopers. That could be another tutorial: “how KZread crafters make videos.” I have always wondered how you get your final production ready for posting. I don’t think viewers realize how much work it is. We only see the finished project.

Oh yes, video editing takes at least 10x longer than the actual video production. I've done a lot of videos for marketing at my company and a 2 minute video can easily take days to edit, correct any errors, add overlay texts, music, etc. Very time consuming and a whole other skill set.

What I have TONS of and they work great to mix paint in or whatever, is those cups that individual apple sauce or other fruit cup type containers! They are super handy!

Love the bloopers 😅 Reminds me of myself when I’m crafting, cleaning or just doing whatever. Good to know I’m not the only one who talks, answers, criticizes, offers suggestions & laughs at themselves.

Just a suggestion…. I use toilet paper rolls as dividers especially for pens but I also use them for a lot of other things. I put them in boxes and the TP rolls are cardboard so they will adjust themselves to the container

Ok...how did I get this far in my crafting life and not know there were glue sticks specifically for fabric, wood, and Styrofoam!?? Game changer.

I had such a rough day today and who knew a tour of a fantastic craft room was JUST what I needed? Really great organization inspiration! Thanks for sharing. My husband and I were married on October 21st and his groom cake had a DeLorean cake topper... Yes we're THOSE kinds of nerds. I love both Doc and Marty. 😁

Love everything! I'm binge watching craft room tours at the moment. I'm just starting the process of having my own craft room. I'm getting so many amazing pieces of storage/desk etc from Facebook for free and another site. My husband is so good and busy picking up the items for me. I've already got a desk, 2 storage shelves, a fantastic Ikea liatorp press all for free and plan on upcycling a few things I have 😁 tomorrow I'm getting an Ikea Billy bookcase and a DVD storage shelf rack that I'll use too

Thanks for ideas redoing my basement to make a craft room!

I got tomato boxes from subway and covered them with paper from the dollar tree. Slapped a tag on them and stacked them two high on my shelves. Works great. Love your craft room.I'm not that organized but I do know where most everything is. Lol

Slider storage bags are one of my best organization tips. They are a great way to organize within a box without taking up space. You can find them at DollarTree as large as 2.5 gallon bags, gallon, quart down to sandwich size. The sandwich size would be great for the colored glue sticks.

Julia House...where do you find these larger bags at DT? I have looked several times on the aisle with other sizes of baggies, foil, etc and never see the extra large storage ones. TIA

Hi there! Once I get into organizing my crafting room I will definitely videotape the process. So nice to finally have a whole room to put it all in instead of having knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and sewing stuff ALL OVER the house.

Love how pretty and organized your space is. Back to the Future - one of my favorite series of movies! You crack me up, too.

LOVED the miniature craft room! Yes, that's what I wanted to make sure to comment about first. hee hee! Loved the bloopers at the end, keeps it real. I will say, I like to use the big storage drawer units for my bigger collections of supplies, and even home decor stuff, although spendy, I can do the same thing you did with your little teal one on a bigger scale. I hate digging through stuff and I can usually find at least one at a garage each summer. I don't care for the wide ones that Walmart carries because they're too flimsey anymore. I do love your crash cart idea & I feel like I should go get one as soon as the public ban is lifted in my state. I always seem to have waaaaay more stuff than I feel like I can keep functionally organized. I probably should just put more thought into & consider the TIER concept, I guess. Makes good sense!

Probably one of the most functional, yet beautiful spaces I’ve seen. Well done.

I'm always on the look out for new, innovative and creative ways to make my craft cave more efficient and effective. Thank you for sharing this! My biggest tip is "use your walls". I find that is the most under used area of craft spaces. My other suggestion is "think outside the box". My craft cave has a rescued kitchen cabinet as a die cut station and two bookcases mounted on the wall, sideways. My name is my channel if you'd like to see how I repurposed my space very inexpensively.

I only started the video; didn't watch the whole thing. I was scrolling through the comments and the idea of using a bookcase sidewise sounds like an excellent idea.😊

Juanita Gentry I have this sewing room as well, I have only finished the little mirror so far but someday mine will be done! I think it’s from miniatureLove or something like that. Also check Groupon, my nieces got rooms very cheap through them.

There is a catalog/website, Signals.com, that sell a variety of craft kits for rooms, one is very similar to Courtney's.

Mini paint Tupperware is freaking awesome too!!! I always mix too munch paint. PS ... it is guaranteed we would bff's in real life! 😘😘😘

For markers, pens, etc. you can also use toilet paper rolls to separate them. Place the toilet paper rolls into the desired box and then start separating! Hope this is useful 😊

It's all so cute and organized 😍 I'm so sad I missed this challenge. I tried to join, but our home has been so crazy. Love the tour!

Lovely room nicely organized and functional. You mentioned washing your paint brushes and then putting them back in your containers to dry. But this isn't good for the brushes because the water can drip into the metal ferule causing them to rush and allowing some of the bristles to fall out. You should dry the brushes with the tip up and the brush downward until they are dry - then okay to put them in your container. I have some styrofoam from some package I received, and I tape them to the bottom of a shelf and just stick my brush handle into it while the brush drys. I'm sure there are many other ways to keep your brush upright while drying - this one works for me. Love your crafts.

LOVE the project bin idea! I collect stuff to make a project and then I forget what I was going to use it for. It would be great to use those chalk labels that have a clothes pin on the back to remind me of the inspiration!

Your craft room is so dreamy! 😍 I recently gave my craft room (wreath room) a makeover, and my favorite part is the wall of florals. I made a ship lap like wall, and used s hooks to hang baskets of my florals from floor to ceiling! It saves so much space!
