    Very similar to this. Oil squirters are really the only assembly difference in the short block.

    Bad ass vid only thing I can say is I put the piston Jets in after I install piston assembly but their way I just do it that way cause I don’t wanna run the chance of bending one. Bad ass vid tho very detailed !

    Used to be like that too, but I like doing it before so I can make sure the squirters aimed right as it rotates while I install pistons. Saves time but I hear ya!

    Is the crank thrust measurement the same for all common rails? I'm doing a reseal on my bottom end at 230K before adding power and wanted to make sure my thrust was ok or if I needed to bearing roll.

    love the videos. i just got a 98 12v. would love to see a video on what you would do for a complete rebuild engine trans axles everything to make a daily big single street truck. was looking for just under 4 digit hp range

    Usually the axles are fine maybe check the LSD clutches really until you are pushing 1200hp plus or sled pulling factory stuff works fine. Get new u joints though!

    When you’re installing new rod bearings, after measuring oil clearance, should the bearings be installed with assembly lube or dry?

    Funny that they changed the connecting rod orientation from long side towards intake side on CR 5.9 to towards the exhaust side on a 6.7? Why?

    Do you know what Cummins 24v valve spring install height is? Having problems with Hamilton 188/220 with coil bind. I have manton spring kit. It is coil binding. My install height is 1.304. No shims or valve seal. The hat on the seal is .020

    Josh, anything special to welding the crank to the gear or just clean it up and weld in bout 3 places? You tig it or mig it?

    Always tig, mig will put weld splatter on the seal surface.

    Yes if you have a steel (not cast) cam or very stiff valve springs.

    As Jason said it allows for a stronger cam material. Usually a CR engine will get away at a higher power level with a cast cam because the CP3s don’t take as much HP to turn compared to a p-pump. We also opened up a couple oil gallies to help keep it alive

    I wasn't following on the orientation of the oil ring when you said "dead center over the power stroke", looking from front to the back of the engine, Top ring 8 o'clock, second ring 10 o'clock and oil ring 6 o'clock?

    Only low hp 03-04s don’t have jjets. Standard 305hp engines have the same jets as shown

    As long as you are running a chilled iron cam there isn't really a need for the bushings. Steel cam and it is pretty much a must or if they planned to run it 100K miles with 150lbs+ of seat pressure it would be a good idea.

Im doing a complete Sri k rebuild other then mahle pistons. Do I need to use this ultra black rtv gasket maker on my rebuild?? Or just use gasket without any rtv?
