This TODD'S TIPS Video covers changing the lithium battery that HOLDS the Free Play settings and the "Auto Play" mode. It only takes 30 seconds to do either task (after installing the new lithium battery!) Below is the written instructions you can cut and paste and print to keep with your machine!
Setting 45rpm ROWE JUKEBOX Model R89 to R94 on FREE PLAY
1. Open up jukebox and slide SERVICE SWITCH to SERVICE
2. On Keyboard, Press and HOLD IN POPULAR button and then type “000”.
3. Display will now show three vertical lines.
4. Type in “27”, then type in “255”.
5. Press Popular to lock it in.
6. Slide service switch back to On. The display will now read “255 selections remaining”
Turning off the AUTO PLAY feature:
1. Follow steps 1 to three above
2. Type in “32”, then type in “0”.
3. Press Popular to lock it in.
4. Slide service Switch back to On.
When you first turn your jukebox on, you will always get some sort of Error reading. This usually involves the Bill acceptor...and you can ignore this message!
Also...the plastic piston support for the door for all Rowe jukeboxes can be purchased by following this link!

Is there any way to set a AMI Rowe Cadette CMM1 to free play? I just got one through an estate sale and needs a real good cleaning but works. I'm going to put it in our family room but would like to set it to free play. Can't find anything on how this is done. Thanks

Todd and TNT Amusement fans: There are some sparsely populated arcade games popping up in our nearly empty local malls. This one caught my eye the other day and I had to play. It was a SEVEN FOOT TALL PAC MAN! The screen is made up of low density LEDs. I'd say the game play is more like a traditional Pac Man except it allows for simultaneous co-op. I thought it was pretty cool. Here's a link to an image I took goo.gl/photos/eCzwawGLFsyLYBEeA

Does anyone remember that the CD Rowes after 20 minutes played a random track from every 3rd CD? If all 100 slots were filled, all 100 CDs got a random track played from it. I would know what CD it would move to, but if someone put money in and played it, it would delay it. I saw some cut free plays off when an entry was keyed in, others didn't. Many they took out random play because it was interrupting sports games, they had other filler music, or other reasons. Those jukeboxes were better than the app MP3 players they got now. The touch screens cost more for a credit. Not every song on an album are on those. I see the same selection on several or what all of them don't have. Bring those back.

Hi Todd. If I change the battery on my Rowe CD jukebox (video on my channel) will it erase the initialized cd track settings? And which board is the battery cell in?

You seem so knowledgeable and I'm wondering if you could help me out with my R-85. When I turn on the jukebox it continues to play random records until I hit the "Clear Selection Memory" button. I have the continuous play button set to off but it just keeps playing records. If I select a record it does not play it next. It's a little irritating having to open it up and hit the clear button every time I turn it on. Any ideas?

@@tntamusements Thank you!. I replaced the battery and it is working great. The battery had leaked and corroded the wires on the diode just adjacent to it so I replaced that too. Also re-soldered those cold pins. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!

Hi Todd. Love your video posts. I have a Rowe R89 Video Jukebox with everything but those old Beta decks and wiring to the Control Center and Video unit. What I was wondering is what are the codes to change back to Auto play and coin operation and how to change the pricing. Also, is there only 2 settings to the auto play (attract mode) of 20 and 40 mins or can it be programmed to any specific time to play? Thanks for great videos and info on arcade games.

You have to find a book for it...its easy to turn those features on and off in the menu. The battery has to be changed though, so the new settings you make will stick after you turned it off.

Todd When I change the records on service mode and put the lid down the free play mode disables. Is it because of the battery in the Jukebox? I have an Rowe R-94. Same as this machine. Is there something I can do to avoid that. Because everytime I replace a record I have to reprogram the Jukebox to free play. Todd please give me some info.

Yes! An 8 bit computer is very common for simple electronic devices. In binary, a 8 bit number gives you the ability to represent any number between 0 and 255, in this case 255 is simply 11111111. It's simple for the programmers who made the chip to use 11111111 as opposed to some other number because its simple to type and its easy to remember.

course naturally cd's skip about as bad as 45's. although a cracked cd probably won't work but a cracked 45 depends on how good the needle is :P Cracked 78's? (and I'm sure there's a few 78's??, isn't there a 16 speed record. too slow) I have alot of 78's, many of them are over 100 yrs old :O, although Bobo the clown is really hard to get it to play properly because of where the tracks are in location to the center. oh how thrilling. A cracked 78 because the groove is so large usually plays just fine even with a bad needle :P
