Did you ever decide if this needed a diode? And do you think a machine this old needs new caps on all the various boards? I’m trying to decide if I need to replace mine before they cause something to break. It’s almost 40 years old. Haha.

I didn't find a definitive answer. Mine still had the same cr2032 battery and is still remembering selection history

I have a R 84 which i have just got working with the help of Johnny a retired Electrical Engineer could you just let me have the details of the battery replacement for me to pass on to him, is it the same as a computer battery ta

I used a cr2032 battery
