12 Step Wisdom

Фильм және анимация

Series on The Twelve Steps (Part 1 of 3)
At some point, our lives are unmanageable and we need help.
When we want to turn away from sin and our struggles, we turn to God to save and heal us.
We are given clarity to open our eyes and see our life in a new or different way. And while we're accepting reality as it is, we recognize what we can and cannot control, we realize what is asked of us everyday.
When we live that reality one moment at a time, that's the time we can accept life in a particular way and enjoy it!
This episode talks about the Serenity Prayer and what it means to be in recovery and seek healing and conversion.
The Poco a Poco podcast happens because of many generous donors, including recurring monthly donations of any amount. Thinking about helping out? You can give at spiritjuice.org/supportpoco. Thank you!

Set-Aside Prayer God, please help me set aside everything I think I know about myself and others, about my disease, the twelve steps and all spiritual terms - Especially you God, so that I may have an open mind and a new experience with all these things. Please help me see the truth.

Just noting that there are also 12 step programs for those who have a friend or family member who struggles with addiction. Like the impacts of sin doesn't just effect the individual committing the sin, but rather all of humanity, addiction, a form of sin, impacts more than just the addict. It impacts all those around them. I never drank before in my entire life and don't, but because of other people's addiction, I too needed my own recovery. The program is called Al-Anon! As a member of Al-Anon, it definitely strengthened my Catholic faith in profound ways. I've been in recovery almost 8 years now. Changed my life. Thanks for showing the Catholicity in 12 step work. It reflects my spirituality in profound ways.

Thank you another week! Love it. Finishing up O God Almighty, Merkakis Volume 4. Suffered three days of a Python like pressure on my 76 year old lungs from Covid... while reading through Suffering of our Lord (and all the miraculous movements and feelings in me from Erasmo’s words and ways. God Almighty). We had gone to a wedding in Massachusetts, everyone unmasked. And almost everyone got the Covid, though the relatively lesser effects from whatever current version. I got the right med for ancient people and so stayed outta the hospital but hello Mister Python was the chest’s song for three days. Better now. I have to say how grateful I am for you guys I feel such a happy brotherhood with. Like your best friends, thinking of you all week. For blessings to and from you as you go. Am also rereading Father Innocent’s Lent book a few pages at a time. Knowing it’s part of what I can do to give toward Mary this MayMary month. I love that your podcast always attends to what can make us as happy children and blessers as we can be. “ALL IN. ONE DAY AT A TIME. ENJOY GOD’S HOLY WILL. AWARE OF CIRCLE OF INFLUENCE and CIRCLE OF CONCERN.” Your podcast and work sure a circle of influence we are within and that has made me this week attend to internet friends, facebook etc., who I can check in better and more often with. Prayer always for concerns and though separate in space, internet friendships with a few for the building up in faith of all of us together. Think of it! How would I ever hear you? Amazing. God Almighty. All joy and blessings to you. Gratitude, out of my mind! 🎶❤️🎶

'We don't struggle. We relax and take it easy.' From BB. I wasn't really interested in the path described by the sober people in the book or their wisdom. Not was I interested in praying in private as directly instructed by the Lord. I was full of BS.
