Reminded of the mystery of Phil 3:14 I think. Reaching forward for the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Have held it to search it for me. I see a new thing from what you say. The goodness of God in the land of the living, marriage say or lack of sought for marriage because of the goodness in it… both have God calling us in it. From what we have in the desire if it is fulfilled or God calling us when we don’t have fulfillment of it. A hearing of Him either way if we seek to reach out to hear and understand. The prize is the calling. Something like that. Love you guys so. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Especially Fr. Innocent?'s line, "Jesus... uses our... poverty, our pain, to bring us to the certainty that He takes everything upon Himself." WOW. That is very different from how I was seeing pain; it is a very redemptive view of pain. Thank you so much for your reflections!

The Eucharistic Congress was wonderful!!!! I don’t think my diocese was involved - however I watched all the revival evenings from KZread!!!! Being involved in the Charismatic Renewal for close to 20 years, the Eucharistic Congress opened my heart to the Spirit. Our church needs it- The people need it. Thank you Holy Spirit

As someone who has personally experienced this, this topic is NOT talked about enough. In fact, this is the first discussion I have ever heard on this topic. I entered religious life twice and spent two years with one. Not being accepted has been the most painful experience of my life and no one understands. It's a hidden suffering.

Really excellent episode - probably one of my favorites! I went on pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago - walking 21 days/255 miles this past May. Your reflections really resonated with me and my time on The Way. It was a super blessed time…seeking the face of God in all the beauty, in the people I met, in all the circumstances, and in the long periods of prayer and contemplation. Pilgrimage is a school of trust - relying on the Lord to provide all I need and to be with me in the difficulties and in the joys. I was such a joy and grace upon grace. Forget the cruise, y’all should go on Camino! Even a 10 day Camino. Thanks for sharing your time and thoughts with us, Fathers. I love you guys!

Beautiful truths! Thank you, friars, for helping me get/see the close connections of poverty, blindness, and intimacy. I also appreciate that in all your podcasts, you don't just speak on/to the spiritual level but you bring the human side into the picture as well. I think that's what makes your conversations so helpful: you identify the human difficulties we all have and talk about how we can move through those to become closer to the Lord.

It’s just wonderful to know who we are in Christ, as without knowing that, we lack any real sense of identity… As a person who used to be a people pleaser, it’s been so freeing for me to know that the only person who’s opinion of me counts, is that of my Abba Father ❤

Peace be with you, Fathers. I am from Southern California. I was surprised that, twelve minutes into this episode, you did not seem to be aware of any Cloistered Male Orders. I know of one example in the US: the Benedictine Monks of the Swiss-American congregation. Benedictines are the most ancient order, and they are the most hospitable. May God bless you.

Yes, it resonates with me. Recent perseverance and courage by converts has touched my heart to ask the Lord, "what ways are you asking me to change?" It was a small fissure that the Lord opened so gently.

Hello friars! I very much appreciate your insights and perspectives on living life with the Lord. Is there any way you could leave aside the filler words ("like", "again", "once again", etc)? They distract from the wisdom and truth you are so good at seeing and sharing. Minor point. I confess, I don't like getting distracted from such helpful conversation. I especially appreciate the way you talk about our human experience of the Lord and how to live the truths you are discussing in the midst of our brokenness/journey with faith. You don't just preach Jesus and the Gospel; you share how we can connect with Him even though we're not perfect. *So* helpful! Thank you so much for this podcast.

Are YOU honestly able to converse at length on a topic without sometimes using these words??? I thoroughly enjoy the genuine conversation of these fathers and the fact that this podcast is mostly spontaneous and not scripted. A few specks in their eyes is part of genuine thinking on their feet.
