My gosh, Patricio was sprinting the final 50 meters of this race faster than I could if I were fresh! That kid’s in incredibly good shape! His resting heart rate must be 30!

The fact that other kid ran a 33 second first 200, then lead most of the race, and didn’t completely fall apart is also pretty impressive. But sub 10 minutes 3000 meters as a ten year old is amazing.

Pardo also broke the AAU 12-year record last month that stood for 36 years with a time of 9:33

ALL of these boys are an incredible inspiration. They work so hard to get where they are at such a young age. Our world would do well to learn from them.

I ran in the same places as patricio before i went to highschool, im 14 in highschool running a 11 minute 3k and when someone mentioned his name i completeley remembered watching him run. He can solo about 99% of my highschool team at his age currently. A true legend

He also went out in a 33 first 200 which I think may have cost him but he really kept trying to stay in the game until he finally couldn't handle it anymore. I'm really happy to see that rivalry instead of complete domination.

For 11, that's amazing. That's like a 10:30 two-mile, which was what I was running as a freshman in high-school. let's just hope he keeps improving steadily in a lasting progression as he grows up.

69 seconds is a good 400m time at this age, let alone doing 3kms. And thats a bloody good 800m time

Victor had a rude awakening in that race. It will make him stronger. Just like finishing second last year made Patricio stronger. Great race. Edit: since I’m a year late on my comment I’ll have to find the 2023 race and see if I’m correct.

Victor is more of an 800m and 1500m runner, which Pardo is not good in. I don't Victor ran last year.

If the junior Olympics were more accessible I think these world records could be beaten even more. I know a few 6th graders at my middle school who could probably get close to this speed.

If you look at the board on the field at 10:07, you will see it say 9:43 instead of 48 so it wasn't the announcers fault- and he quickly corrected himself after realizing the time was off.

It's my understanding that Victor ran some other distances so it's probable that his legs just ran out of juice at the end. Not sure about Pardo. Regardless, it was a great accomplishment and race by all these young men.

I watched the 800m boys 11 year olds, Victor came second. Losing just just. Very fast race and Patricio Pardo came forth in that race.

I'd say those lights are mostly to create drama for the spectators ....

Last time i watched this he was 12. Guess times going backwards like the rest of the field.
