Thank you very much. Very useful. Because of this, I am abandoning the isle style range set-up. Kitchen is too small. Only wall option I have is near the window. Range would share half wall, half window. Putting a hood as well. I am worried cooking oils on the window. any suggestion? Thanks

No real suggestion without blocking the view (back guard)… You will be cleaning that window quite a bit.

We want to install a 36” Thermador Freedom induction cooktop in front of window along with the thermador downdraft. What are your thoughts about that? I know downdraft is not a popular venting option but we don’t want to block the view with a hood. Thanks!

Because of the efficiency of induction cooking, the downdraft is a viable option in this scenario.

Can a cooktop be placed in a window? I have a similar design in my new house but I need to fix it. I would prefer not to renovate the entire kitchen if possible. Thank you, I am a big fan.

A cooktop could go in front of a window, provided the combustible sill is not in close proximity. You would need to check with local code on that. Most of the time a non-combustible backguard would be required which would impact your view through the window anyways.

We are not fans of downdraft venting as a whole. We understand they have their place in the market but wouldn't be an application that we would recommend if you're looking to vent your space well.
