Thanks so much. i'm watching this webinar Jan 31 2023. So playing catch up - I see GE cafe has redesigned or updated their control configuration on their Induction cooktops. Do you have any thoughts for these new models eg 30" CHP90302TSS? How would you rate them for reliability and do they have problems / issues with the burners?

Thanks for your series on induction! I’ve learned so much from you. I went to a store today (SF Bay Area) and was all in on the Thermador 36” freedom + 30” Bosch oven. The sales guy offhandedly mentioned that Thermador, Bosch, and Miele had crap to nonexistent service and that Wolf had the best service by far. I hadn’t planned on Wolf, yet here I am. The sales guy was surprised at how quickly I jettisoned Thermador/Bosch. 🤣

If you're interested in buying a gas stove incase of a power outage be aware that some of the new models will not allow the valves to open without electricity, and so are unusable if the power's out.

I suggest an under-$100 110V induction cooktop for a trial - that's what I'm using. It's great for one-person meal cooking and for small tasks like boiling water. I'm weaning myself off California gas, and have found the advantages of the induction method are substantial. I use the timer on the unit most of the time such as when I use a porcelein teapot. Set the timer for 9 minutes for a quart of water and I'm good, even if I forget about this task, which is often. I think the timer, the cool surfaces and ease of cleaning are a great safety features. I don't know if the cooktops and stoves have timers.

Thank you for all of the information. I missed the webinar :-( Question: are the bridge elements on the Wolf a true bridge. What I mean is if there is a gap between the 2 elements? Is it just being able to sync 2 elements to power on at the same temperature. I think the Thermador has the entire surface as the element. Can you confirm? Sorry for all the questions.

I am almost completely blind, have a little vision left in my right eye. I definitely have to have an oven with reliable smart capabilities. Up-to-date I have been looking solely at the GE café series, wishing and hoping that wolf would come out with smart capabilities but I also like the fact that the GE has the knobs on the front which is a Normas plus for me. Is there any other suggestions or recommendations that you guys can make from my particular situation. Your videos have been so helpful I’ve tried to call but of course you’re only available to people up in mass, any help would be much appreciated. Thank you so much for all the info you put out there.

Hi Steve, I hope you see this questions as I am writing six months after this was posted. Do you have any information on the invisacook stove top or if any other companies are getting into that type of induction stove top. They go under the granite or porcelain countertop so your counter is your cooking area. I have minimal counter space and am looking into this option when I remodel in a couple of months. Thank you for any information I really appreciate all of the advise you give and always turn to your videos when getting a new appliance.

Hi. In moving to an induction cooktop I’m looking for one with a continuous cooking surface. I think the options are only the thermidor and wold. Which would you recommend? In the thermidor I noted that while it’s a continuous surface it’s overall power draw is lower than the Bosch. Should I be concerned? We do cook 3 to 4 pans simultaneously a few times a day and want to make sure the cooktop can handle that. Thank you

Yes you can crack a glass induction cooktop! I got a small crack on the side of the cooktop after having my countertops replaced, and gradually it spread across the whole cooktop. Luckily it still cooks!

Hello, thankyou for this video. There’s not many videos with all this information. I’m debating between the Wolf and Bosch benchmark. My concern is the Bosch looks and feels softer than the Wolf and looks like it would scratch and crack more easier than the Wolf. Does the Wolf have a scratch resistance material on it and is it more durable than the Bosch or are they made with same exact material? Would you say Bosch is as good quality and durable as the Wolf? Thankyou

Nice video, but you didn’t talk about the technologies used to actually cook. I bought a portable induction cooktop and it is absolutely horrible for anything needing a consistent low or medium temperature because it operates only at 100% or 0%, alternating at different frequencies of on/off for the different temperature settings. Xiaomi has a portable unit that works with dual frequencies for the magnets in an attempt to eliminate this problem, but I have not tried it yet.

The video was not about portable induction units but built ins. Portables are 110 volt and do not have the output of the 220 volts. We have a library of induction to help you.
