Hear from a small diverse group of local voters as we get closer to political conventions and the fall presidential election.
We focus on Democracy which is rule by “the people” or rule by “the many,” as opposed to rule by one (monarchy or tyranny) and rule by the few (aristocracy or oligarchy). “One of the bedrock principles in a democracy is the equal consideration of the preferences and interests of all citizens. This is expressed in such principles as one-person/one-vote, equality before the law, and equal rights of free speech.”
According to polling data, “democracy” has become an important non-economic issue for some voters this election year. We’re interested in how voters are thinking about democracy and politics in the United States this election year.
