Re NHTSA, this is a Pandora's box of new technology. It seems there needs to be a new definition (guideline) as to what a "Recall", defines. Is a software update, something that improves the way a car drives, or is it, a fix for a defective software revision? FSD Beta is a prime example, is it not defective? Like I said, Pandora's box!

The Berlin build model Y will be a version 2 of the car. Therefore it will be more advanced and then hold a higher value over time put up against version 1 that will come from China and USA. I have ordered a Y performance with a demand that it comes from Berlin. I rather wait a few months more for a more advanced car since I planned to keep it for several years. Delivery early 2022. But I’ll wait to q2 if that insures 4680 structure. And don’t forget new color options and probably better quality than we have seen so fare from especially Fremont. I have high hops but are aware the problems that often comes with a new line and technology.

Point to the majority of other manufacturers’ cars that can respond to the presence of emergency vehicles? No, because they don’t, so it is not an industry safety standard. Waymo cars are remotely monitored and can be remotely driven.

Interesting perspective on Beta test scores,Reviewing previous Beta tester videos show most drivers aren’t very good drivers,Constant steering wheel alerts,Inattentiveness ,There is some indication they are allowing sub scoring below 75 allowed access to new beta software

maybe have the patch notes in the app so you can review them their before starting the update process. I dunno about everyone else, but when I get an update, it's usually by way of a notification on my phone.

Kettleman city you mentioned in the podcast may run out of water in December due to the prolonged California draught. Should not affect Super Chargers but it may shut down the Tesla lounge.

It sounds like NHTSA is setting a situation for a lawsuit for whatever reason. NHTSA also sounds like it doesn't really understand the process of OTA updates. They are still stuck in the processes that legacy manufacturers still use, which is different.

NHTSA understands Elon has little tolerance for fools and an ability to over react so they are going to keep niggling at him till he blows and they can advance the current government anti Tesla agenda.

Just a quick off topic question. My wife always likes to know where people are from. Eric is your background Portuguese? Due to the spelling of your last name. She was Born there as were my parents. Love the show and still informative like when you started the channel and we wanted all the info available while we waited for our Model 3.

The safety score is flawed. I have a 96 score and can't seem to be able to change the Unsafe Following section into the green. I drove for 30 miles over 50mph not in autopilot and no one was even close to me on the road, it changed nothing on my score. I'm still confused how I even was dinged in this section to begin with. And the beta hasn't been doing full stops at a stop signs. Fremont is tiny for a factory and the Bay Area, California in general, is very restrictive for large companies. The state has been pushing companies and their money, away for a while now. It's too bad. How is Tesla hurting their Powerwall sales by letting us power our house with the car? Powerwalls are in short supple plus you can't buy them separately now and many of us already have solar panels and just want a power wall, but can't get them without buying Tesla solar panels. So using our Tesla car to power our houses would be great. Regardless, Elon said there wasn't a demand for V2G with their cars, of which he is wrong.

So your have said 3 different ways by 20 minutes in you what sto slow down software updates if Tesla does a recall you understand that the have to explain the issue to nhtsa and then prove they have fixed it Before they can issue the fix ( great way to steal secrets in normal coding and processes) and with the way NN work very hard to do for them.
