Quantas lembranças muito boas da minha adolescência introspectiva, onde eu pegava meu walkman e saia andando por kilometros até o aeroporto de Congonhas onde eu me realizava vendo aqueles aviões decolando, pousando... Eu adorava olhar para a equipe de bordo, me imaginava comissaria "aeromoça na época"... Infelizmente não pude fazer o curso no tempo certo. How this song takes me directly back to being 17 in 1997 is amazing. With the first vocals I’m right there.

Mary Ramsey oft gets lost in the shuffle at the mention of 10,000 Maniacs, but what an incredibly talented woman. Love her vocals.

Yeah. Love Natalie Merchant (and Bryan Ferry), but this was a really nice listen too.

The video was shot at House on the Rock in Spring Green, Wisconsin. The toy musicians that move and dance are called Baranger Motions, and they are on display at the same location. Baranger Motions were mechanical displays leased to jewelry stores for advertising their wares.

Such a well done video. I LOVED the sound of this song when their cover of it first came out. And the video was a top notch high-art production to go with it. Her voice was and still is angelic and beautiful. I wish they'd had more top 40 hits in the intervening years and really could have been huge, but the niche they carved for themselves is still absolutely wonderful.

I love this song, both the original Bryan Ferry version when he was with Roxy Music and the 10,000 Maniacs version with Mary Ramsey. I prefer this video version with the smoother and slower beat than the other released video version where the publishing company altered the tempo to a higher setting. I'm glad I was able to get the CD single a long time ago at Tower Records in 1997. Sad that no one likes to sell CD singles and albums anymore. RIP Tower Records 2006.

Hoje as rádios só passam sertanejo universitário , tomei um ódio dessas músicas por causa de uma rádio do ratinho q só toca essas porcarias de Gustavo Lima e Marília Mendonça…… ainda bem q tem músicas internacionais pra gente ouvir

Sem dúvida, só quem tem bom gosto pra music e valoriza a audição entende os arranjos tudo maravilhoso adoro a vocalista tinha q ser ela, já ouvi na versão com um cantor Inglês também é bom❤

ever since i first heard this about 11 years ago, i have been absolutely in love with it. for some reason, the sound of the drums absolutely ASTOUNDED me, something about the way they were recorded just sounded a crispness that i don't think i've heard before or since. and then of course Mary's vocals and her skill on viola.... amazing!
