My wife and I met when I was in my late thirties back in the mid nineties. It was love at first sight. She would tell me that I reminded her of Bryan Ferry, whilst I used to say she looked like Cybil Sheperd, the actress from Moonlighting. Unfortunatley we were in a motorcycle accident three and a half years after we were married. She died at the scene with me holding her hand. Now I am now 69 and this song always makes me smile as I remember the two of us getting drunk and dancing around our apartment to this song.

The story of my life….

Can you fall in love in a moment? Yes. Winter of 85 I had been dating this girl for a few months and we’d had a party at my house. It was the wee hours of the morning just she and I in my living room. Everyone else has either left or gone to bed. We’re a little buzzed and this song comes on. She gets up and just starts swaying and dancing so sweet and slow. She puts her hand out and takes my hand to come dance with her and it was like a lightning bolt I fell in love with her right there. 34 years later two kids and it still gives me chills when she reaches out to take my hand and dance. This song will always be special to me.

Yes Rhiannon, that magical moment. No words, just looking in the other eyes, and a glimpse of a smile. Magical. But we were then both engaged/married. We would'nt ever break our each "marriage", even if they were'nt happy ones. As P Pumpkin says, an impossible love. Now a widow due to a stupid pool accident, I tried to get back to her, 15 years later, find her to no vail. Only to think of her, her well being, I feel so sad and desperate...

I first watched this movie when I was living alone in Tokyo back in 2007 and never understood why people didn't like the movie that much. Having lived alone in Tokyo for almost a year, I understood how real this movie was. You could be surrounded by millions of people moving like water around you but yet be alone as if you were walking through a massive forest.

I must have watched this film 50x and it STILL gives me goosebumps.

This became our song after meeting in 1986 and going on a first coffee date. She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, shy and scared, but she soon trusted my presence and her confidence grew. 48 years later, after much water flowing under the bridge, she still mesmerising me with her beauty and charm. Whenever we hear this song, inevitably, the hugs, kisses and memories come naturally ❤️

You can't act Chemistry away on the screen. It either exists or it doesn't. Everything the Actor conveys is an illusion but they make you lose yourself in what you see and you forget for a little while that it's not real, and that's a testament to their abilities. The ONE thing they can never fake or skillfully act on is their Chemistry with one another, and these two phenomenal Actors had that. Also, the setting, Tokyo, was the right atmosphere to give you a feeling of being in a crowded place yet feeling absolute loneliness. Then that person walks right in and Lights something dormant within you, completing you...but you won't be able to hold on and must let go forever.

I've been watching this movie only 1000 times, and I still can not get enough. I love the story of the movie. The music complements the movie so smoothly. They both are having a hard time in life living in a foreign country with a language that they don't speak. They find each other and despite their age difference, they feel comfortable. They are engaged in relationships that don't want to destroy. Nevertheless, they enjoy & complement each other, and is nice to be together. Time end and they find it very hard to say Goodbye pretending as nothing existed. But there is an unexpected Goodbye, the most beautiful goodbye ever.

What a dish this girl is

Some identified with the mood of this movie. Spent many boring night in hotels traveling for my job. There is only so much tv you can watch and they all start looking the same.

Pamiętam ten kawałek z młodości i zawsze wyciska we mnie nutkę nostalgii.

I know what this is like; when you have that perfect connection with someone, and it was meant to be for a short time, and just ends perfectly. It's not supposed to last. Just enjoy it.

I had a moment like this in my life about 25 years ago. Some years after I tried to find the girl, but I found she had sadly died. I was crushed. Couldn't go on for a long long time. The lesson in life is take your opportunities with both hands as you don't know when they will come again. We are on this planet such a short time. Don't look back, keep going.

The little refrain right at the end of this song always gets me most. But you've missed it off. :(

When I talk about Tokyo, then I always refer to „Lost in Translation“. A magic town full of surprises. Scarlett and Bill are brillant.

I often think of her, I miss her from time to time and always wonder how her life turned out. I hope she is happy….

Still one of my all time faves. She will never look as good in another movie. Natural beauty. Stunning. The story resonates with me for so many different reasons. The world seems to have gone mad .... and I look back to simpler times. As somebody else on here said ... the connection with somebody when it goes beyond sex. My father used to party with the cast from Second City. He would occasionally run into Bill Murray at a bar in Toronto. He always said Bill was a riot!

Watching this video, we have all been there. Beautifully put together. Bill Murray absolute class. Scarlet Johannson perfect in every way.

A true classic! Great plot, great direction, Murray is superb (it was a mortal sin he has not received the Oscar), Johansson is olympicly wonderful, and the couple chemistry couldn't be more perfect!

It was criminal that he didn't receive it for this role. The Academy always screws up!

There at the end of the movie, not this video, but the actual movie, when his entourage is taking pictures and he's watching her walk away, and he's trying to be nice and smiles for the pictures, and she walks away, it just makes me feel everything that I know he is feeling, almost a panic as she walks out the door.

When sex and physical intimacy is surpass by the connection two souls can develop...

this movie is for anybody who was ever in love and for some reason it didn't work out at the end..I was 38 and my girlfriend was 23.we were both heroin addicts here in West Hollywood..I finally had a enough and my family throw me in rehab..a few months later I get a message she had died of an overdose..that was in 2004 still the most emotional thing that ever has happened to me..constantly asking myself what if what if..this movie totally reminds me how we acted together..little did I know when I said good bye I'll see you in a few months that would be the last time I would see her..#missyoulizabaroody
