I appreciate your videos Briggs, they bring to light more truth than what most say! Plus I love ur sense of humor! Thank you!
I had a few negatives in regards to Seattleites. The natives aren't warm but they are not rude either. Overall, it was an easy town to make it in. I was surprised on how dark it was during the winter.
The Seattle Freeze doesn't have to do with friendliness...it's more along the lines of having a conversation with someone at a party and someone says "We should get together sometime to do activity x" and never hearing from that person

1:19:14 Funny enough Briggs. I live in Montana in a town that you ranked one of the worst towns. I don't mind it. My kids hate it. You can walk around the whole town in a circle in 20 minutes. We live very close to the reservations I grew up on the reservation. I think one of the saddest things is for the people who are on dialysis. They have to get up. I think the bus leave around 4:00 in the morning to take him to Billings. I believe it's approximately 125 miles just to get to Billings.That's an all-day event. Both the reservations that we live next to neither of the hospitals deliver babies anymore. Which I think is sad for the culture, but it leaves Billings to be the only place close by that you can actually have a baby. You once mentioned that Billings has the highest rate of depression or something close to that. It's because all the local rural areas send their depressed people there. The psych ward's there. And none of the rural areas really have the treatment programs for alcohol or drug. So you have to send them all to Billings and then Billings in school then they send them out. It's kind of rough. And you can always tell first Year of a person being here. Because they're the first ones in the winter. Because usually the first ones off the road when it snows.. We did just get a new clinic. The new skate park. But we did lose one clinic. And they shut down dairy Queen. Due to poor management
I will retire in Santa Fe, New Mexico one day the land of enchantment.

Having a large white population isn’t a bad thing. I’m white but in today’s climate IMO the term diversity has been replaced as no whites wanted. To me we are all Americans but obsessing over diversity or lack of isn’t important to me. I don’t talk up or down to anyone. And I’m not to blame for anyone but myself. @squeekycat

Pop rocks candy was first sold in 1976, discontinued by General Foods in 1983, and after that, Kraft Foods licensed the Pop Rocks brand to Zeta Espacial S.A. which continued manufacturing the product under Kraft's license. Eventually, Zeta Espacial S.A. became the brand's owner and sole manufacturer. Pop Rocks is distributed in the U.S. by Pop Rocks Inc. (Atlanta, Georgia) and by Zeta Espacial S.A. (Barcelona, Spain) in the rest of the world. You can still buy them. There was also an episode of the tv show Mythbusters about them.

It kinda bugs me; I always hear it as a misquote of "Get it? Got it. Good." originally from the movie The Court Jester with Danny Kaye; also from the Mel Brooks movie The Producers. It doesn't make sense the way Briggs says it, because it's supposed to be a dialogue between two people. 1st person asks the 2nd: "Get it?" 2nd person responds: "Got it." 1st person responds: "Good."

I think one of the bigger problems of why California got so expensive is because they over regulated production of new construction so it depleted the amount of new homes being built. This also goes for multifamily. For example Texas has remained pretty affordable despite having a crazy influx of new people moving here same thing with Florida. How can they do that when Cali can’t? Different policies around real estate and new business. I would recommend folks not live in a bubble and actually research this stuff. California is beautiful and people move there but it’s not a normal situation to compare the cost of living going up in tiny Idaho where they can’t keep up the supply for the overall demand. Not the same thing
@jacklong7048

So then explain many other states. Some just love every chance to dump on CA. If you want to blame, how about all these investors who swoop in before any locals have chance. Ban that!!! And maybe look at foreign ownership, didn't Canada do a one year moratorium. Many tired of reach taking over everything...
@majorsynthqed7374

Florida is not affordable in many parts. If you want the lifestyles of the Keys, South Florida and SW Florida, especially around Naples, Bonita Springs, Miami, Palm Beach area, and Marco Island, you will be paying $$$$. If you want to be on the water, it's $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. At least in Florida if someone tries to be a squatter on your property, the Sheriff's Dept. won't play games.

I'm originally from the NYC Area of Tax Jersey. I joined the military and never went back. I never will. I moved to the DFW Area in TX when I left the military and retired here debt free. That's hard to do in Tax Jersey. If that state could find a way to tax you for going to the bathroom, they would. In addition to taxing damn near everything, they have the highest property tax rates in the nation. The people and crime aren't really bad when you get out of the cities. Places like Newark, Paterson, Trenton, Camden, Atlantic City, etc., really suck but there are some great small communities down the shore and in the middle North and Northwestern part of the state. This video is spot on why people leave NJ. Between taxes, cost of living, and the weather, it's a brutal state for retirees. Here in Texas, I haven't shoveled snow in decades and I don't miss it. The only time I go back to Tax Jersey is to visit family members for special events. That's not likely to change.

The Seattle area does at times have traffic issues. But that is because people are patient and don't like to yield the right of way. And are in too much of a hurry. Where I live in kennewick or eater WA this is a problem as well. My advice if you travel in the Seattle area is to use public Transit. It's cheap and a good system. I doesn’t flood in Seattle.
There is so much you get wrong on Seattle but I am okay with you pushing for people not to move there because I want the housing prices to drop so I can move back. You like to talk about cost of living but you never talk about how much more people are paid in Seattle. I worked as a Paraprofessional in Seattle and earned 27.54/hour. That same job in Indiana is 12.00/hour. Any person that is self motivated and willing to work will make enough money to live a good life in Seattle. People here in Indiana are now working 2-3 jobs just to pay the monthly bills. I know you don't like the politics of Seattle but here in Indiana we have Conservatives bragging about how they haven't read a book since high school like that is a good thing. The anti-liberal media echo chamber is so enormous and a part of everyday life here. There are signs everywhere saying save our farms from Solar but don't even realize China is buying up all the farmland anyway. Anyway please pump the anti-Seattle hype, anything to lower housing cost so a newly retired person can move back.
