I'm impressed with how the game was 10 years ago, obviously, now it's better, but it's still crazy to see how it was back then. Just looking at the progress done makes me proud of owning the game haha

Old beamng has certain vibe to it especially in the graphics tests. It seems to have more depth and saturation.

I notice that! It really makes the game feel more “positive”, in the action, and less dreary. Maybe they could adjust that per level or area.

I’m somewhat curious, does the audio sound any different between DirectSound and XAudio output? DirectSound had everything sounding way lower and muddier than I’d expect, so I’m wondering if that’s just an audio backend issue at the time.

One thing i do miss is the old smoke, sparks and particle debree that would happen when you crash, it made crashes *feel* more chaotic and realistic. I hope they bring that back in some capacity.

I remember the times when you couldn't even stop properly, cause there were only parking brakes, and when you pressed "S", you would go backwards most of the times

as someone who has been around since the beginning to see this makes me really nostalgic for the old days of the game. Not to say they were better, but just for the memories.

Even the Version 0.1 impresses me still. The game has come a long way and nowdays it's definitely one of my favourite car games of all time. The softbody physics were really realistic for the time. I'm really proud of the devs, they do such a quality job with the updates. The desert map has been a hella lot of fun and i love how they are remastering some of the cars too to make them look, crash and drive even better. Also the modding community is awesome, so many different mods available for the game. I wish they would bring an official online multiplayer like BeamMP - other than that this game has a very bright future.

I must say the newer version is my personal favorite and would play it forever lol and the more updates for it the more it’s gonna be more and more realistic as it goes

I remember watching these old-ahh beamng compilations. I still remember when i first played beam when it first came out and im proud that the game still exists and that it's making a lot of progress in development

For me the suspension is the biggest improvement, I can't even drive in the old versions now that I'm used to the new stuff, night and day difference

I didn't play then, but it looks good for a 2013 game! And nice drone-like cams!

I don't remember changing anything. The only mod I used was Techdemo Gridmap in the new version for a more accurate comparison. It could be that I turned up the saturation a bit in editing.

Why haven't changed the gridmap, Some may think it isn't remastered, but all map, vehicles, and other things is changed since 2013 in BeamNG now

That footage you show is not v0.1, the test map/track in that footage is much newer then v0.1, old test map/track did not have any nature stuff and used different textures.
