I never understood why they removed all the dust, debris, smoke, and sparks during collisions, it's the most noticeable difference when comparing BeamNG to real life footage.

I guess because they'd cover up the deformation of the vehicles in slow motion, but they should bring it back as an option tho

I remember first time watching the demo video of BeamNG. I was astonished! Back in the day the the closest we had to this kind of game was Rigs of Rods, and Beamng felt like a completely new level. Turns out it took a couple of years for Beam to match and pass the RoR functionality. It's nice to see how much progress has been made.

One thing I notice straight ahead, the smoke effect when drifting or sliding looks so much better than in the game right now, no idea why they removed all those dust debris and smoke effects

Nerd3 introduced me to BeamNG way back when, I would love to see him revisit BeamNG again. He did at one point but even that was so many years ago and is already really outdated again.

I have 2013 beta version on my old laptop. I like the flex of the truck bed in the older versions when you go over uneven terrain

You finally convinced me to crack and purchase Automation and BeamNG and lemme say it’s amazing how far BeamNG has come from its earliest build.

My twin brother introduced me to Rigs of Rods videos back in the day. Our reaction when watching red Range Rover Classic off roading and flexing amazef us how realistic the physics are. Years after later BeamNG Drive was introduced and we watched tons of YBR videos. What a great childhood memories.

It's crazy how far beamng has come. I remember playing one of the early versions and played it since. God I feel old

Ive been playing this game since 2014 when I was 9 years old and I was astonished by the visiuals I love how it started and where its going

I also got that build somewhere on my very old hard drives, I remember playing the shit out of it back then. I joined the forums in August 2013 and since I've played Rigs of Rods I was completely blown away when I played it the first time. I think I spend more than 500 hours in those early versions of the game. And when you could finally buy the game I did not hesitate for a second.

Ah yes, TheAdmiester also helped out with the 'Spec II' mod for Gran Turismo 6. What a legend.

i remember so good playing this on my laptop with 3 fps when i was 10 years old. for every gran turismo i was most interested about the crash physics and this is what i asked my dad the whole time. This game was a dream come true. still playing it today

I hope one day they'll release the cryengine prototype, would be a fun piece of history

Bruh i used to have this, or maybe a slightly newer version, on my WINDOWS XP💀 LOL but, i do remember the billboard that you spawn in next to. Bruh i just want that version SO BAD AGAIN. The nostalgia would be real.

Now a year later on 0.32 we have had vr support reintroduced animated shifters air suspension and many refreshes of older car models the amount of work done to this one game can only be rivaled by the likes of project zomboid and even then those are 2 entirely diffrent games and beam is alot more advanced physics and graphics wise so its the more impressive one to me on that regard

Man, I forgot about the Grid 1.0 map 😂 i remember playing the Demo version, was a lot of fun was proper impressed, was one of very few games I bought on steam cuz I actually liked it so much, even tho my laptop didn't really like it very much and even at low settings and 720p I was playing at 28FPS max 😂 good days

well this build was never intended to be a public release, as the reddit post/comment stated it was meant to be private but was accidentally made available due to the forums being set up wrong, 0.3.0 was always meant to be the first **public** build of the game, however i doubt the developers really care that it leaked since even by the time that it did, it was already vastly inferior to the then public demo of the game.

And no you're wrong! Sorry but this version is a modified BeamNG. A very basic but yet real argument: if you look at the files and folders, the modification date does not correspond to May 2013 but to August 2013 (which is the release of the game on August 4, 2013). And others were even modified in 2014 and 2019. btw, it's just a warning to avoid falling into the trap next time.

It could just be because it was recovered from an old hard drive so the modified date is changed to 2019. It is just how the Windows copying works, unfortunately. So I think that the developer build of Beanng is real.

I also bought this game thanks to @WhyBeAre. I think I got it around 0.4-0.5? I remember when the Barstow got added, so I guess 0.5. Fun fact: The cooling fan on my first computer ate it while playing BeamNG, and I had to wait forever for it to be fixed.

The older version of the game looks marginally better than the latest one in my opinion.
