    I used to own a really nice 2015 Prius C in Tangerine Splash Pearl (bright orange) and a couple of months after I bought it I was pulled over for speeding, 60 in a 40, in the little town of Hanoverton Ohio by the OHP. He checked my driving record which up till then was spotless and handed me a warning citation but no fine. I thanked him and asked him politely as possible if he pulled over very many Priuses. He looked a little puzzled at first and then he just shook his head no. Al Gore's son and I may be the only 2 people that ever did! The bright color probably had a lot to do with it.

    #3 is so true. I drive my dad's Camaro and no one comes even close to me, and I drive it so carefully. But in my old Prius, I will, uhh... yeah, I'll go a bit over the speed limit. And people will pass. But after that, they'll slow down! It's like they pass me just to pass me. Despite that, I'm looking at some of the 2020/2021 models and looking to get a new one at a good price. These cars are so reliable in their first 10-12 years. I'd love to be the first and only owner and see how long I can make it last.

    I've had some strange experiences buying cars from a dealership as well. I was fresh out of college and paid cash for a used car. The dealership would not mail me the title, like they said they would, until I spoke to the owner and he offered to buy the car back. I kept the car and he ended up mailing me the title. Another time I was pre approved by my bank, so I was hoping that would make the experience a little easier. Nope, they were trying to talk me out of buying the car. I don't know if the manager realized he was selling it for way under BB value or something, but it was like they didn't want to make the deal.

    I appreciate your videos. I have and love my 2017 Prius. I don’t look at my rear view mirror if I don’t have to, because people rush to tail gate you right before they pass you. It use to bother be then I accepted the situation and now I’m happily oblivious of their need for speed. & I have left it ON a few times for hours before I realized it. The stealth factor of the Prius is spectacular. Mine is named Serenity. Do you name cars? It’s my first time naming a car. That’s how much I love it.

    I own a Prius Prime since four months ago and I'm still very happy and excited with the car. It's my first brand new car so I can't really compare with other cars. I agree with dealership process, it has been a long process for me. I had to wait two months until mine become available. I'm not sure whether they really applied the goverment rabate on my final bill, the details seem so blurry. I ended to pay 42K CAD with taxes and interest rate (and possibly rabate)

    It makes sense because the interest you pay over 5 years for a vehicle worth almost 40,000 exceeds $5,000. Nevertheless you should look into it and get a clear breakdown of the transaction.

    #3 is so true Lol! I own a Prius plugin and F150 FX4. I drive way faster on Prius in terms of accleration and hwy crusing speed cause I am not concerned about poor MPG but other drivers are always on my Prius's rear bumper trying to pass me usually in attempt to prove that how slow I am driving. However, on my F150 I dont have this trouble.

    I'm in Australia and I had a 2007 Prius bought that year and traded it in in 2019 for the newest Prius. You had to wait a few hours to pick up your Prius. Even though the Toyota dealerships in Australia sell the Prius, none of the dealerships had any in stock nation wide at the time. I paid a deposit in November 2019 and received my car in March 2020. It took that long for the order to be placed and arrive from Japan. At least I got the colour that I wanted. I agree about opening boot (You call it the trunk). The hatch door is much higher than my old Prius. It doesn't come with a spare tyre either, only a repair kit which I have already had an issue with. It does have a lot of safety features such as warning lights if you stray out of your lane. I don't think the Prius is as popular in Australia as it was a decade ago. In Australia Toyota promotes the Corolla hybrid and the Camry hybrid which are always in stock.

When the lease was up, we opted to buy the thing, and the state mandated that we get the car inspected before we could purchase it, and we had to remove the tint to pass inspection. After the purchase, we had the tint put back on. Crazy!

    I found out through the BMV in the state of Ohio if you have a hybrid they charge an extra $100 dollars to renew your registration and $200 extra for a plug in. A gasoline tax was passed into law and they make hybrid owners pay up at the BMV cause they know they aren't buying as much gas. It's true you do try to stretch the gas mileage. I take pictures of my gas mileage on my dashboard and send it to family 😂 I love the cop and the lights in your Sideview mirror

    it wasn't offered in black the first model year that's probably why he said that. But every guy at the dealership when I went was really uniformed about the car. I was telling THEM the features. They were also doing 0% in 2018 because they still couldn't clear out the 17's (how I got mine). Since owning it, it has become a lot more popular than when I bought it, back then nobody had one (the prime). Honestly the cop thing is so true. I've passed up cops 80-95mph and don't get stopped. on about the 8th time I rolled a stop in front of a cop I got stopped. he let me go. haha

    What is the advantage of the Prime? Vs regular Prius. I hear the Prius is gutless revving highway .

  • @ocmotivator

    @ocmotivator

    Of course it’s gutless but it gets 75 MPG. It’s a hammer. You use it to drive nails. But if you want to torque a bolt you need something else. My other car is an 800HP hellcat Redeye and that is a different tool. Don’t by a Hellcat for gas mileage and don’t buy a Prius prime for performance.

    As a non car owner. The prius drivers are the most considerate to pedestrians. The worst are the prestige car owners. Run red lights, ignore cross walks, ignore no turn on red.....and when they do hit you....that have the cheap, fly by night insurance. Tesla owners....they act like the prestige owners. Difference is their cars seem to automatically avoid running lights and automatically yield to pedestrians on the crosswalk.

    Frank E so sorry to hear about your experience dude. While I get your point these kinds of generalizations are unfortunate as it paints everyone with one broad brush. I own both a Prius and a “prestigious” type car and I try to be kind and respectful to everyone regardless of what I drive. I guess I just hate generalizations as they aren’t fair and create expectations of bad behavior before it ever even happens. With that said I agree about the Tesla owners. 😂

    Nissan is the same. I had no trade in and was going to write a check to whatever it was. I figure show me the car and let’s write up the sales paperwork and here’s the check. They made me wait 6 hrs and I walked out telling them forget the deal. 3 days later they called me back.

    I've owned all the Europeans. They're a pain in the ass. We decided it was the smartest most economical way to go. It took us forty-five minutes to complete our purchase as we had financing in hand. The most curious thing about owning a Prius is the antagonistic reactions from other drivers. We get honed at and cut off all the time. We aren't driving slow either.
