10 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT TOM DELONGE

Музыка

#AngelsAndAirwaves #AVA #TomDeLonge
Admit it. You know you've done it. Anyone who has ever heard Tom DeLonge belt out his distinct So-Cal snarl on an Angels And Airwaves, Boxcar Racer or old school blink-182 track has tried to imitate his vocal delivery. In this APTV exclusive interview, Tom DeLonge recalls the first time he heard his signature "Where are yeeeeew?!?!" sung to him and reveals the pop-punk legend who he's been trying to sound like over the course of his career.
DeLonge also discusses the modern post-punk band that he and Travis Barker fully backed, divulges what he considers to be his greatest weakness and opens up (as much as he's legally permitted to) about his ongoing pursuit to make a connection with extraterrestrial lifeforms.

I definitely don't think blink sounds the same but if I'm being honest, I like how Matt sounds on nine more than Tom's but Tom's is really nostalgic to the other albums. it's kinda like the discussion on Chester Bennington in Linkin Park and how hard it would be to replace him. it damned if you do and damned if you don't.

@@calvinfletcher4699 I agree with you. I think both Tom and Matt have a similar writing style. On album matt does edge over Tom. BUT...we've listened to previous albums with Tom on vocals and it's very strange to hear at a live show. I think Matt is a good fit, but like you, there's the nostalgia that will always come back with Tom

It’s was nice to hear him go into detail about a lot of things I wondered about him over the years. He looks healthy too. Tom will always be a huge part of my life, even though I have kinda grown out of that style of music. I will always have that kinda respect for it. Tom IS Blink. Obviously they couldn't have made the music they did without Mark, Travis, Scott, etc... but it was Tom's writing that set them apart from the rest of Pop-Punk. Even "Neighborhoods" was leagues better than Blink's output without him. Mark just isn't as good a songwriter and Matt is better in Alkaline. Travis can play on pretty much anything and make it sound good. Not trying to downplay his contributions, because he is a fantastic drummer. Hopefully one day we will get one more Blink album from the golden trio. I think that's what we all want.

Tom's over here same as ever, creative and filled with some sort of childlike wonder. Mark is over there writing songs begging people to remember that he's fun loving, or at least was in his youth. I think Tom was the authenticity variable in Blink, and that's what I miss about them.

Punk Rock is freedom. Kurt Cobain said that too. I am a Nirvana fan since 1997 and music is a passion, it does not mean how weak you are or how much notes or chords you learn, the passion, melody are important to write music, and after that come lyrics. I wish i would jam some day together with Tom. Tom you are my hero from my teenage years!

Even if he's not 100% accurate he's close if not spot on this is a critical stage of our evolution and being open minded is essential to get there, also the guy who is reminding us about frequency, self expression, and just being happy I got reminded Tom was a ufo phenomenon guy,and I realize how much I'm like this guy,and always trying to spread knowledge about consciousness ,everyone is blind these days so much going on in our atmosphere ,roy.g.biv 7 levels of heaven

Fave Tom DeLonge w blink 182 song : hard to pick just one, have been a fan since day 1, but I’ll pick the song “Down” ..also “Miss you” (yead as Tom sings that, kills me every time)..as AVA so hard to pick 1 as well.. but I really love “Secret Crowds” from more recent AVA I love “Kiss with a Spell”... everything Tom does is Golden....So underrated and makes me so mad not more widespread... I’m his same age so I truly have had the same background as a kid/teen w punk music.. but I love almost all genres of music.
