The tears falling from Ed's eyes as he takes Jerry's hand is a hell of a moment. It just doesn’t get better than Fright Night.

I got to meet Vincent Price once, and listen to him give a talk at my school. He was amazing! Polite, congenial, shook EVERYONE'S hand as we left the auditorium, and a GREAT speaker to an audience from young to old alike. I've never heard anything bad about him from others, either. Always polite, always a class act.

I loved Both Fright nights. All had great actors... R.I.P.
This is one of the best Vampire movies ever made. Great job Minty!
I am not huge on vampire films, but have to say Chris Sarandon's Jerry Dandridge is the best portrayal of a vampire I have seen. He owned the role, oozed charisma, made it work like a charm. Even though there were pioneers who did it first, bigger named actors who got more acclaim as vampires. or more successful movies in the subgenre, I still give it to Sarandon as the best.
Fright night is one that you watch and watch and watch and noticed it’s a great vampire film 👍👍
Will always be a favorite for me, what a fresh of breath air this movie was!

Loved this film. So much better than the remake. Many of us grew up watching Roddy McDowell and was great to see him in this. Chris Saranden was HOT back then.
The part I remember about this movie will always be Charlie's friend Ed, having newly been turned to a vampire, reading that note from Charlies mom...."Your dinner is in the oven." The way he reads it is just pure comedy gold.

Proud to say I have a mint copy of the novelization. Cost a pretty penny too but worth it! Well written by authors who clearly wanted to expand the story without adding unnecessary elements or removing those seen in the movie. I'm surprised they didn't novelize Part 2 but NOW Comics did us that favor.

As a kid growing up in the 80's, this is the one flick that kept catching my eye time and time again, because it had the coolest case in the video shop - it was the same cover you can see here, but the case was in the shape of a coffin, brilliant! And when I was finally old enough to watch it, I loved it. I enjoyed the novelty VHS cases, but I can only remember two - this one and Cameron's Closet. I'm sure there were others though.

The detail and intricacy of the movie's poster art is amazing...another thing missing in modern movies. The 1980's movies had some wonderful art: original Friday the 13th, Bloody Birthday, etc.
Reading the novelizations of our favorite horror movies are mostly enjoyable. It gives fans some insight & perspective of different ideas, settings that can add depth & continuity to the storytelling.
One of my cool Hollywood memories is of when my friend Dave was working at Boss Film and we stopped by to visit on a trip out to L.A.
