Minty Comedic Arts

Minty Comedic Arts

As a lover of Cinema and general Pop Culture I peel back the layers of some of our most well-loved movies and try to discover secrets laying behind films that we would otherwise think we know everything about to bring a new love and appreciate to all those movies we grew up watching. Buckle up and get ready for my Top 10’s as I do a check list of things that you may not know about the movies.

The Bar scene and a different computer game called Lemmings. Someone made a cartoon, the naked lemming walks into the bar, the sounds of fighting and then the lemming, dressed appropriately, walks out to "bad to the bone". it was called " The Laminator ".

The Terminator Endings: The Future is saved -> No Judgement Day (and no Sequels) The Future is not set -> Terminator Resistance Also I really like how you show the Terminator arcade game but although I suggest you move your poster of the thing somewhere in your kitchen because the arcade machine is blocking it. Also when will you delve into Terminator Resistance?

The extended cut seems to be the version I watch the most, but I really enjoy the theatrical version, as well. I occasionally watch the happy ending version, though not as often.

Part of the Universal Studios show was live action and really brought the audience into the scene.

Having grown up in South Florida, I was lucky enough to experience the Terminator attraction at Universal countless times, and boy what a great time. Live action actors, animatronic terminators in the theater and the grand spectacle of the whole experience. It is definitely missed

Robert Patrick did a phenomenal job playing the T-1000 especially in every scene he was in he would go out of his to not breath as to really sell the “machine” character all the way to his physical training and endurance that in the undercover car park chase Cameron had to call cut on multiple takes because Robert was actually out sprinting the bike.

I always kinda thought it was a MAJOR jump for Sara's character to go from a damsel to a badass, but yesterday I learned about a woman named Ada Blackjack. Ada was a timid native Alaskan who joined an expedition to find Wrangle Island. She was terrified of guns and polar bears, but her little boy was very sick and she couldn't afford his treatments. When a supply ship couldn't make it to them the first year out, the men split up. One group tried to reach Juno, the other tried to reach Siberia. She was left with one dude who had scurvy because they were only living on meat by that point. As his health failed, she wound up taking care of him, despite his verbal abuse that she was useless and stupid. All while literally doing everything in camp while his body failed. She started by sneaking up on foxes and bashing them with clubs to eventually shooting walruses. She did her best to care for the guy, but he eventually died. She spent almost a year basically on a frozen chunk of island before a rescue ship finally reached her. She was the only survivor. She went from a timid girl to a certified badass and never got any recognition till after her death in the 1980's at 84.

I liked the 3-D sequel but it was really the whole experience. You're doing a tour of Cyberdyne Industries and the tour guide says a lot of questionable things. Best scene was when the T-1000 was searching the audience, he gets in your face.

The T2 attraction at Universal was so awesome to watch. I love the robots they had on display on the sides of the audience shooting blanks. It was a 3D show but had actors walking around and portraying the characters on screen. So epic. 😢 Miss those days.

Agreed. Nobody saw Shirley Manson (I forget her characters name) as a protector. That final scene was jaw-dropping on that reveal. I actually met Summer Glau at a con two years ago. She asked if I wanted my picture personalized, so I said you can write whatever you want I guess. She signed it, “come with me if you want to live”

I'm in the minority that preferred T1 and the first Alien movie. I preferred the dread/horror of those over the all out action of the sequels. T1 and Alien both had protagonists that were woefully under armed or trained in a terribly claustrophobic situation. I'm not sure why both the sequels went down the path of balls out action movies.
