Not only is this movie is eminently quoteable, but the wordplay, the puns, the back-and-forth, the insults, the deadpan, the slapstick, the sight gags, and recurring gags.... They all just add to its value. The movie is practically perfect.

Exactly why it should NOT be remade. Hollywood, stop redoing movies that were perfect the 1st time! Judy Garland will ALWAYS be Dorothy, Gene Wilder will ALWAYS be Willy Wonka, and everyone in Clue will ALWAYS be...well, murderers. But the funniest damn murderers ever!

I'd say the hard part would be getting a funny cast (doesn't have to be legends, not everyone in clue was that big, at least back then), that had the chemistry and could play off each other that well. It's another one of those perfect storm movies that seem increasingly rare.

We would close the blinds, turn off the lights and pump up the sound! I was thinking they do make another Clue movie, I would want a totally different mystery in a big house. I would never want them to use the same characters and plot. I guess the characters could start out getting aliases so still end up Miss Scarlet or Prof Plum. But definitely keep it a comedy to make it more unique. Not many comedy mysteries set in country houses.

Clue is a total cult classic. It is one of the most rewatchable movies ever made. It's out on 4K Blu-Ray. The transfer to 4K was done with the original negatives, and it looks great.

One of my all time faves. Great cast, script, set, and acting. I really want to see the Ryan Reynolds remake. I showed Clue to my 10 year old niece and she loved it. She's been playing the board game since she was 7.

This was my movie growing up. My family was nuts about it. We used to tape ourselves on cassette acting it out, banging on window screens for the thunder effect.

I'm a member of The Junior Chamber of Commerce Players (JCCP) which is the official "Rocky Horror" shadowcast group for Pittsburgh, PA, and we've performed a full shadowcast of "Clue" a couple of times. It's one of those movies that actually lends itself to a shadowcast very well as it has a small cast of only 14 characters (plus a few random FBI agents and cops at the very end) and none of the characters change costumes throughout the movie. Unfortunately, it wasn't until recent years that performing a shadowcast for the movie became a bit more doable as Paramount had a reputation for sending cease-and-desist letters to various shadowcasts who were attempting to perform the show. I don't know if the powers that be have simple changed hands, or of someone realized that shadowcasts can actually increase ticket sales, but more and more shadowcasts have begun to perform "Clue" without problem in recent years.

Love this movie! When it came out in ‘85 I remember I looked up the playing times, theaters and endings playing at each theater in our local newspaper. As I recall, the newspaper listing would state whether it was ending “A”, “B”, or “C”. Anyway, they definitely got their bucks out of me. 😄.

I remember a bit back and forth the day i went out to see this movie with my parents, They wanted B, i wanted C. You had to PICK which ending you wanted and would get tickets for that ONE ending. We were at showing C. after that the TV version would include, at the end, a section that would say.... "OR IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED LIKE THIS!" and then would go to show the last 10 min of the movie with each ending, 3 times.

Classic and brilliant. It's funny every time I pull it out and watch it. Talking about making a modern version.....why? Unless it can stand well on its own, be faithful to the original without rehashing and being a totally predictable do over. Not an easy task.

Great video! I played the board game all the time when I was a kid, especially when dad was home from working construction when it rained. The only reason I can think of regarding why it didn't do well at the box office is because unless you played the game you wouldn't know a thing about what the movie was about. This movie is one of my favorites for sure, watch it often!
