A better way and more succinct truism is "The only way to win is not to play the game." Another one? "Be in the world but not of it." These are all you need to know and be sincere about it.

These videos are great but I still need help. I have a customer who is a regular at my business. She is a liar and a thief. I have chosen to ignore her and just avoid her when she comes in. Yet, she still comes in and barks smart a** comments. Do I continue on my path and let someone else deal with her? or do I stand my ground and tell her that I will not tolerate her nonsense?

Maybe don't take it personally. Take the situation as an opportunity to practice the lessons you've heard here . Win her over with your warm and your strength. Good luck to you.

@@Dogs-are-God2 thank you. I’m working towards that still. It’s hard not to take things personal like that when someone is so spiteful as to steal from you right in front of you; but your right I need to keep my head on

"In stoicism, we focus on what is within our control rather than those that is not within our control like how they ACT to us." If you have a problem with something as that, why not just let it be.
