Okay, here's MY £0.02 (worth of Bit-coin): I 💭 thought that "Nemesis" was 98% A-OK the way it was. (Not that ANY of you asked.)😏 If there was ANYTHING that I 🤔 thought could've used improvement, it was the E.T.U. device. SPECIFICALLY speaking, the amount in stock. There are a Metric Dreck-tonne™ of replicators on the Big~E--- they (the writers) are telling me that they couldn't have repped a DOZEN--- #€££, SIXTEEN dozen? (Yeah, yeah--- I KNOW: "Cos Data wouldn't've had to die, then.") Which brings me to my next point--- I NOW grasp why Data needed to be written out of the films (at that point). Initially, I wanted him to've survived, but a colleague straightened my thinking out. When (in one's series) you've an android (for a main character) who does NOT age, played by a gentleman who OBVIOUSLY DOES age... there's only so long he could stay in the role.

I think a lot of the deleted scenes from both Insurrection and Nemesis that featured "TNG Moments" with the cast should have been left in, or at the very least, directors' cut edited back in, Picard's food-mishap, Troi & Riker in the Library being childish (which also featured a prosthetic-free Max Grodénchik, aka Rom, throwing a piece of paper at them!), the Data & Picard wine scene, and of course, Geordie & Worf clearing Data's quarters after the battle with shinzon, which given the latest STP episode would be even more poignant today, the editors & directors just didn't quite get that these "moments" are what made the characters that we love more realistic, which unfortunately were supplanted for action hero explosions everywhere scenes... :(

One (of two!) big cut scenes you missed in this list was the alternate ending to Star Trek: Insurrection, where Quark showed up in the Baku village in a Hawaiian shirt with a pair of Dabo girls in tow, looking to set up a Spa for rich old people somewhere in the Briar Patch!!!! I've only seen photos of the cast in that scene & read the script transcript. Why THAT got cut, I have no idea! Maybe it was deemed too much fanservice, but It sounded really funny & awesome!! The second deleted scene you forgot about was Wesley Crusher talking with Captain Picard & Doctor Crusher during the Riker/Troi wedding! It informed us that (at that moment, at least) he had rejoined Starfleet and was about to start serving on a new ship somewhere. I get why THIS one got the axe, but having Wesley back on screen with the cast at the wedding and then tossing all his speaking lines in the theatrical version was a REALLY sucky decision. Not to mention a big disrespectful one too. As a fan, that really stung. As did all the meaningful TNG character moments left on the cutting room floor that Stuart Baird denied us fans. 😠

Always fun to explore these corners of Trek. Good job! 🌟 Picard in French: my head canon is that it’s an effect of the universal translator. A European francophone (Picard) would sound British (European) English whereas a Canadian francophone (Janeway as played by Geneviève Bujold) would sound North American English. It seems Shatner still can understand French (he grew up in Montreal, though in a rather anglo neighbourhood) but he admits himself (at the McGill University ceremony when he got his honorary PhD) that he won’t speak it.

until picard retconned it, my theory on all the characters accents was the universal translator. i always figured Picard was speaking french, and the computer just translated him into a brit. same with Worf, I figured he's speaking either Klingon or Russian, probably Russian given how he is more wooden in his speech compared to other Klingons. and juxt opposed to that is Chekov, you hear his Russian accent because he's actually speaking English, so the translator isn't translating him for the audience this could also be used to explain why Troi has a different accent than either of her parents, maybe shes speaking English with a Betazed accent, but her mom is just speaking Betazed so the translator makes her sound american

0:54 THIS scene should have been completed and inserted into the movie (Nemesis.) It is a nice finishing touch on the whole Worf cat-sitting scene from STTNG - Phantasms.

I recall the (unredacted) torture scene in Generations, where Soran actually stops Geordi's heart several times. Soran's subsequent line "his heart wasn't in it" comes across as vicious & cold, making you believe him capable of murdering millions to get what he wants. With the edited scene, this line is irrelevant and does nothing.

You would think there was no reason to do the scene in slow no either. Why not slow it down in editing? It looks really bad the way they did do it!

God… Nemesis need SO MUCH more than deleted scenes, starting with casting an actor that actually LOOKS like a young Picard in the roll of Shinzon. When I first saw the film it took me a while to figure out WHO Shinzon was supposed to be! 🙄

It still bewilders me that people try to complain about "Jean Luc Picard" having an English accent. I mean, seriously. There have been people with French surnames living in England since there were French surnames or England. Do they have any idea how accents or surnames work? It's almost as stupid as people complaining about the French Prince of Bel Air, because it had a black man with an English accent. Do they think there are no black people in England? Or do they think that all black people around the world sound like African Americans? Ludicrous.

I never understood why Picard could not, very simply, be an Englishman of French Hugenot descent whose more recent ancestors were exploring their French ancestry (vis a vis the vinyard). That is much the simpler explanation.

Why did you pick that deleted scene for your #1? These are scenes we "MUST SEE" and some of these certainly are. But your top choice, by your own admission, is too long, too much exposition, has its best line better delivered by Riker and doesn't match up with the filmed ending of the movie. So why is it a must see?
