Here’s the list. Which one do you want to work on next? 1. When you set your alarm before bed, put it on the other side of the bedroom. 2. Add one personal item to your work to-do list each day. 3. Keep a “Praise” folder in your email inbox. 4. Carry a water bottle with you everywhere you go. 5. Don’t go to sleep angry at the people you care about. 6. Invest in quality, non-processed, organic food. 7. Limit the junk food you bring into your house. 8. Leave your phone on silent and upside down at all times. 9. Write out a physical to-do list before you go to bed. 10. Take at least ten minutes each day to be still.

@@mangos0uplov3r for me, a really, really good trick was to leave a glass of water by my alarm clock. I putt the alarm clock on the other side of the room, so I have to get up. As soon as I have turned the alarm off, I drink the water. Instant groggy feeling is gone and it is so much easier, to not just get back into bed. It worked for me anyway.

Chapters: 0:40 - put alarm on opposite side of bedroom, so don't endlessly snooze 1:12 - add 1 personal item to your work TODO list, to help work/life balance 2:08 - save complementary emails for future encouragement, and to prove good performance to bosses 3:23 - carry water bottle with you everywhere, to remind you to stay hydrated and curb cravings for snacks 4:19 - never go to bed angry at your partner, so issues don't linger and grow 5:17 - buy high quality, minimally processed organic food, to improve quality of life (see Fed Up, Food Inc) 6:15 - don't bring junk food into your house, or limit it, to avoid constant temptation. only buy moderate amounts when truly desired 7:19 - leave phone on silent and upside down all the times, so can focus and be productive 8:08 - write physical TODO list each night before bed, place next to phone. helps stay motivated and have structure for next day. start day with intention 9:00 - take at least 10 minutes every day to be (mentally) still. meditate, go for walk, listen to music, be quiet, doing nothing.

This might sound completely unrealistic, but something that has made a huge change in my life has been not using an alarm. On the water thing: Don't know where this came from, but you _do not_ need 8 cups of water a day, individual needs vary widely. Drinking too much water can strip micronutrients and electrolytes from your system and leave you worse off. Drink when you're *_thirsty_* (by all means have water readily available when you are, which is Matt's point), and be sure to have plenty of sodium, potassium, chloride, and bicarbonate as these will help you from becoming dehydrated.

Improvement really comes from very small tweaks in our everyday life, which is good because nobody needs to completely turn their life upside down in one day even tho we often think we need to! When it comes to "Don’t go to sleep angry at the people you care about", I think it depends. If you get frustrated or upset with your partner late at night, sometimes it could be better to get some rest and re-evaluate your feelings in the morning. Bringing it up when both of you are tired is much more likely to lead to an argument. If you give yourself some time to rest and calm down, it's often easier to have a calm and productive talk about it.

For me personally, not bringing alcohol and sweets into my home, is one of the best things I pay attention to lately. Also, getting over perfectionism is really important too. I am putting out my creative projects more and more easily. The worst thing to do, is thinking it has to be perfect before I put something out. That's why I finally started to upload stuff on KZread like my drum cover. If nobody sees it, then I haven't lost anything, but if only a few people enjoy it, I am happy!
