I don't know if this is a theory (it's more of a fact) but the modern remakes are a separate timeline from the older games.

The boulder Chris beats in RE5 is the son of the one that tried to crush him in RE1.

It also made an appearance in RE4, but was cut from the remake because they couldn't get the same voice actor and didn't feel like a new one would do it justice.

Ethan was already dead after the chainsaw incident with Mia. That was confirmed in RE: Village. Right after that fight, Jack kicks him in the head and supposedly kills him shortly thereafter after dragging him to the Baker's house. Even Marguerite freaks out at the dinner table screaming to Jack saying "HE'S NOT EATING IT JACK! HE'S NOT EATING IT!" signifying there's something wrong with how the mold process usually works. If he was a fully controlled mold creature, he wouldn't have any problem eating the "dinner" they prepared.

No that's not the case, in dlc episodes, you play as one of the survivors from the tape, one of them was strapped to a bed while Margaret fed him, she said finish your food and left, if you eat it you don't suddenly turn, you just throw up, that doesn't explain the eathan situation, him being dead was not planned in re7 in was a thing they made in village

There's a chapter in the Umbrella Chronicles called 'Death's Door' that shows what happened to Ada following her "death." Not entirely sure if it's canon or not.

First off, that scenario is canon as it shows how she got her grappling hook she later uses in RE4 Second, that scenario picks up where the RE2 canon route left off, aka the Claire A+Leon B combo, which Darkside Chronicles even used for the RE2 recap scenario In that combo, Ada got critically injured by Mr X by shoving her onto some machinery before he fell into the lava after being shot in the face by Ada herself She then ''dies'' in Leon's arms, but she ended up only losing conscious and then escaping Raccoon City using the grappling hook she gained during her escape seen in Death's Door Weirdly enough, the RE2 remake combines elements of all 4 scenarios from the OG RE2 and yet they went with the non-canon Leon A scene where Ada falls to her supposed death at the end, which we then see it in a short montage at the beginning of the RE4 remake This suggests, or better yet confirms, that both of those games, and RE3 remake, are set in an alternate timeline from the RE1 remake While all 3 of them take place after the events of RE1, they stray away from the already established canon we know There are even more inconsistencies in that timeline, but that's another whole can of worms lol

@@kjh4496 yes there is one established canon route for OG RE2 in RE6, Sherry told Jake of her experience in Raccoon City and how she got infected by the G Virus she got from Birkin, which gave her the healing factor she used to patch up her wound she got prior to that cabin scene this only occurred in the Claire A scenario of OG RE2, where Sherry does get infected by her dad, but Claire saved her with the vaccine she created and gave to her in the train even Darkside Chronicles confirmed they used the Claire A+Leon B combo from OG RE2 so yeah, OG RE2 had an established canon route RE2R is set in an alternate continuity where some non-canon scenes are used instead of the established canon ones, though the canon scenes from Claire A are still used in case they'll reimagine RE6 in that alternate timeline

@@kjh4496 Resident Evil 2 (2019), Resident Evil 3 (2020), Resident Evil 4 (2023) is Alternative Timeline therefore not canon due inconsistencies such Ada Wong surviving the Fall is unrealistic unlike Trash into Machine to later manage to Inn.

Ada always comes prepared so she probably had a hidden gadget that Leon didnt know about, I don't think her survival was by pure luck lol

Its always interesting to seeing what's going down in the Resident Evil world.

Ada lived because she managed to get another sample after falling before racoon city blew up so wesker sent her a way out I believe

Eveline not making Ethan go crazy with the mold just because she wants him to become her daddy makes NO SENSE. She wanted Mia to become her mommy so why is she a lot CRAZY?? 😂

I like to humor the hunk theory that he's really Chris's father. Only evidence that might say so is in RE Revelations if you do co op raid and pick Chris and hunk, Chris will ask him who he is and hunk will stay silent but breath loudly sorta like darth vader in star wars who obviously turned out to be a father. Nothing crazy but I enjoy the thought. Also I personally think the merchant is multiple people in the remake of 4 he talks about himself in plural, like instead of I, he says we alot idk just something I noticed on my many playthroughs

My theory is that Piers is still alive…after seeing what BSAA did from re village…I get the feeling the BSAA falsely told Chris and hid Piers somewhere…

heard about the theory that J martines (RE2R) is the same person as Agent (RE6), since the only main character he interacts with has only been Ada Wong in "what if" scenarios, what if there is another reality were he survived or if he is actually a ghost that haunts Ada.

My rather dark theory Alex Wesker is going to "improve" her host Natalia's body in a future installment drugs/plastic surgery etc...

1:55 Except no. If you at least know from Umbrella Chronicles, Ada didn't have it yet. Wesker gave it to her as a way to escape Raccoon City before it was nuked.

1. Ethan is a generic citizen he is an engineer which explains the tank part in re8. 2. Ethabn IS dead, the mega mycete which was the source of the mold, blew up. Meaning while we do see Ethan at the end of 8, since Rose is his daughter she has a tiny bit of mold left and the Ethan we see at the end is a figment of her imagination due to the collective consciousness of the mold still in her.

Yep, so while I 100% believe Ethan is DEAD dead, if we see Rose again, he might appear. Basically think of this as RE's version of a Star Wars Force Ghost. Rose can talk to Ethan's soul. But he has no physical body anymore, Mold or otherwise.

Yeah, to be precise she has access to the records of the megamycete which records any person that has been infected. Thats y a dreamworld exists and mommy Miranda,Eveline and were there in Shadow of Rose. It was a pretty cool concept.

Oh on the "Ethan works for Umbrella" theory. It is possible I guess, but it's more likely he works for Mia's company, the rival "Connections". As he's not really surprised by her work and it doesn't cause them to seperate at all relationship wise after the incident. I think it would put Mia and Ethan at a lot of odds if Ethan was working for a rival organization to the Connections. But if Ethan and Mia worked together at the same place, would make a lot of sense

Ethan is listed as an electronic engineer or something out of LA if I remember correctly. He is supposed to be as Joe Nobody as possible. Capcom even stated this as their intent. Besides at this point in the story, it's "Blue Umbrella" who are until confirmed otherwise good. So I think this theory creates a lot of plot holes. Stuff magic mold glue on detached limbs can't really explain.

I believe, Ada died in RE2, and the RE4 version is a clone, which goes rogue at the end, which explains, why another clone of Ada was created in RE6 and thus the actions and consequences, and the reason why Chris does not know about her, while Chris, seems to be another double agent working for a higher power, something changed him after RE1, and he only killed Wesker because he wanted revenge for the death of STARS. Now he is out to change the world by being part of the system. Leon and Claire are just got in the cross-fire and in the mix of this all - so they are just playing a part in this whole series.

@@umairshahid7515 But why does the clone have feelings, by this logic the real Ada never existed, but from the beginning there was a clone or rather a B.O.W., who could however completely control the virus inside it and look like a normal person (just like Carla looked like after she turned into what she was throughout RE6). And by that logic, if Ada was always B.O.W., she might not have died at all in RE2 and not been cloned until RE6. And here it makes sense that Carla was created to deflect suspicion that Ada is also a B.O.W. Yes, but what happens to Ada in her campaign is not seen by anyone but herself, so why create such a delusion that no one will see it. If Chris or Leon knew about these things, this theory would be more logical. Here the thread breaks a bit. However, this theory seems a bit impossible to me (although it is more or less logical), as someone else in the comments said, in the Umbrella Chronicles there is a part called "Death's Door" that shows what happens to the Ada after her "death". But who knows, everything is possible.

That's not a clone in RE 6 that's a woman named Carla Radames who had plastic surgery done to look like Ada.

In Resident Evil 4 Hunnigan literally tells him his mission is to rescue “baby eagle” did you even play these games?

At 6:55 when they said that Chris could be hunk is wrong imo as in resident 2: the 4th survivor when u beat the game a get a screen showing results and when you beat the 4th survivor they show you screens one hunk eating tofu and one hunk without his mask. (Edit:I don’t know if this is canon though ok)

I think the reason Ethan isn't crazy is because Eveline is dead. Jack says that she takes over your mind and soul. With her dead, she can't control you, so you should be fine.

The ada theory has been proven in Umbrella chronicles. Even though it was a somewhat remix of the Umbrella story, parts are still canon. Like wesker stealing the red queen data to make make tricell.

Hunk and Chris are two different people. Hunk has always worked for umbrella, while Chris didn't until blue umbrella was established to write the wrongs of its fomer self in re7.

Chris took steroids and got jacked for the events in 5 because he got his ass kicked by Wesker in 1 and Code Veronica. in CV, Wesker reveals to Chris that he infected himself, Chris obviously wasn’t willing to go that far but still needed every advantage to push him to the limits of humanity.

Ada didn't get the grapple-hook gun until after RE2. Wesker is the one who made it and gave it to her; this is revealed in Umbrella Chronicles.

The one where Chris could be hunk isn't possible as hunk is salí referenced as me.death or the grim reaper because he's the only one from his missions that survives and in resident evil village he and his wolf squad survived

She didn't have the grappling hook until after RE2. In Umbrella Chronicles it's revealed that the grappling hook was a gift Wesker made and gave to her after they agreed to form a partnership.

Ada is quite a bit more complicated as a character than just a villain and boiling this moment down to that robs a lot of its nuance. 1:38 Again, you left out a lot of context. Ada lives theory? We know she lives. She doesn’t die. She appears in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, which takes place after both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 and Ada also appears in Resident Evil 6.

Wtf is this list? Half aren’t even theories. It’s just speculation about trivial shit. It’s known that Christ bulked up in order to go toe to toe with wesker. Might as well make a list guessing which stars member wipes while sitting and who wipes while standing.

Some of these theories are dumb. Hunk works for umbrella, Chris would never.

It was already established in Umbrella Chronicles, and by Capcom themselves, that the Claire A+Leon B scenario combo in RE2 is the canon one Which means the scene of Ada falling to her supposed death from the RE2 remake, which itself is reused from the Leon A scenario from OG RE2, is not canon or is used in the alternate timeline established with said remake, RE3 remake and RE4 remake where events from all 3 of them differ drastically from the main canon timeline

Man some of the fanbase is way on some stuff. I think that one theory that I would have throw out is that the Duke knows the merchant from resident evil 4.

My theory has long been that Chris is exposed to the t virus along with other protagonist in the series. They have some super strength, speed and immunity to other viruses. The protagonist are accidentally successful umbrella experiments through some form of exposure. Throughout the games, they get bitten and heal themselves with herbs but never mutate into zombies. They get stronger, faster and seemingly more intelligent with every installment. Jill was infected and vaccinated even.

we game devs save our efforts, time, money, resources and sanity by not making something that can be achieved by using existing stuff. If a character is not visible, we reuse it. Don't over think it. They just used than character mesh for showing random dude in distant rather than making a new character. You might ask, oh but we have free character available now why use Ethan specifically? it's not that easy, you still have to rig, pose, retarget animation. at least only pose for this one. Besides, Ethan is the only normal looking male character in game to show from distance. Seriously, don't overthink it, there is no hidden mystery here.

I always thought this, and I don't know if it's a "popular" theory or anyone thinks the same, as these games aren't as beloved as others but Jake Muller, Albert Wesker's son, is the offspring of Albert and Excella from RE5. For obvious reasons then, Excella's overly sexual nature towards Wesker makes sense, especially if they had a child together (even if they really didn't care for him).

She is not, and that's been confirmed by Capcom. Jake's mom was an unnamed Edonian immigrant living in the USA that Wesker was in a relationship with from 1990-1992 (timeframe confirmed by Capcom). She became pregnant but never told Wesker, they broke up and she left the country. She died in 2011, and never told anyone the identity of Jake's father. You can collect this lore in RE6 and Capcom also released weblore at the time of the game's release.
