The thumbnail doesn't do pupusas justice. Those look dry as hell. Pupusas are Booooooooomb. Not dry, grilled to cheesy and meaty perfection. That delicios refreshing tomato salsa and cabbage mixture cuts the fat amd richness sooooo well

Teeko Train, are you even salvadorian? Pupusas are supposed to be cooked dried. Pupuseras add oil to the griddle to cook them faster. Grandmas at home don't use any oil. Now if you are guatemalan or honduran then that makes sense, since they make them fried.

I’m Salvadoran/ Mexican and he’s right these are the top Salvadoran foods that are well loved. My Salvadoran family never fail to make any of these dishes 🖤🤌🏽 my favorite is Pupusas & Panes con pollo.

You need to try Churrasco which is a composed plate, Carne Asada, Casamiento, Salpicon, Chorizos, some type of salad and tortillas tostadas (toasted tortillas)

Pupusas are my favorite

Most of the people from the Coast line (like me) loves conchas and others don’t because of the black shell. There are also Salpicón, Atol de elote, Mariscada soup, the Quesadillas, and the Elotes locos!🇸🇻❤️

My favorite? Tamal. Riguas I haven't eaten since 1987. I got a craving for riguas. Hey you forgot to add on your list. Desert... My favorite Salvador postre is empanada de platano. Wrapped up with sugar filled with cream of Maizena. Delicious. I want some beef soup. Sancocho. Delicious

Pan con pavo is the only plate I look forward too in thanksgiving

Hi My favorite is Pan con Pollo which we have for Christmas all the time & pupusas it's a must. I'm from Houston when I went to El Salvador the pupusas are a bit different and there's many kind. Try tamal pisque, tamal de elote con crema salvadoreña, atol de elote, & colachampan. Sorry if I miss spelled but u will be able to find these at a Salvadorian restaurant.

My favorite pupusas are the rice flour ones and all beans 🥰🥰🥰

Only had pupusas, which are amazing. Coctel de conchas, lomo relleno, sopa de pata, and tamal de pollo sound really good.

Thanks for this great video. I see you've done your research. I'm an English teacher. I'll use it in class soon. In regards to pan con pavo, as a Salvadorean, I can tell you that it isn't as popular as Pan con Pollo (some of us call them panes rellenos by the way). In fact, some of the pictures you show when talking about pan con pavo look more like pan con pollo to me. All in all, great job!

While I may disapprove of all the mispronunciations, I highly approve of the list. The demonym for a person from El Salvador is Salvadoran, not “Salvadorean”. I would also add atole elote to the list, and some of the pan dulce like peperechas or quesadilla which make an excellent pastry in the morning with coffee and are uniquely Salvadoran.

Steve this video was great. My other suggestions would be sopa de gallina india (chicken soup). Nuegados. Empanadas de leche. Quesadillas. Manjar blanco. Atol de elote. Most of these are desserts.

Loved your video dude, the list is perfect! If you want to try other soups and dishes and sweets I would suggest sopa de frijoles, sopa de frijoles blancos con costillas, sopa de res, mariscada (con crema o sin crema), sopa de gallina india. Tamales de elote, elote locos, semita, pasteles de piña, atoles (all of them), minutas.

What's up Steve. Here in Denver we have one restaurant called Pupusa Paradise, they are known for offering a rice flower Pupusa instead of the regular corn flour usually used. They say that that's how pupusas in el salvador are also made. Let me get you, they are alot better than the corn flour one. Hopefully you've tried it. By the way casamiento is amazing over easy eggs, on top. ;)

When I was growing up... m uncle used to drink garrobo soup which I think those exotic animals are not brought into the US. But if you visit to El Salvador, you kay find some people that knows how to prepare it. Garróbo is some type of iguana. You should also try los punches en algüiste that’s crab in a pumpkin seed sauce (end result is a greeen sauce)

Excellant first choice, rice. You maybe didn't put them in order but it was first for me. Someone returning from central America told me rice, then said I wouldn't understand. Probably because in the States it's mostly something just to fill the plate. Having visited Costa Rica of all the really great food the rice stands out in my mind.

I wouldn't call Casamiento a dish but more a companion if anything. Also tamales we have a great wide variety of them, Beans (Pisques) , Elote, Chipilin, Sugar, Pork, Chicken, etc
