When I get in my vehicle. I immediately lock the doors. My car doors are always locked. I don’t keep anything valuable and especially no weapons unsecured in my vehicle. Locking things is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your property. LOCK YOUR DOORS FOLKS!

That's why you get a dog if you can, (even a small one) so it can bark when there is an intruder. A big mean Doberman pincher or Rottweiller could probably take care of "Mr. Michael Myers Mask" in the yard, assuming he doesn't have a gun, but even a small poodle sleeping in your room can alert you to danger. @NotRllyJoey Well, given MY experiences with cats, it was fortunate that your mum had one that behaved in such a manner. I was pretty young and hadn’t been married for many years, three men were at my door. I had just shut the shower off bc our dogs were going crazy. I could hear them discussing getting inside. They had already tried the back deck. Truly that was a terrifying experience. I threw on a robe, grabbed the child, put her in the back bedroom with both large dogs. That’s the first time I ever had to aim a weapon at someone. I had a door that had all of that decorative glass, I lined up that Benelli shotgun while the police were on the other end of the line. I can remember tears running down my face and begging the police to arrive asap. I did tell the dispatcher that I was aimed and fully prepared to use that weapon because they even said they knew what my husband’s shift was. The state and county showed up pretty quickly and that dispatcher was great comfort even though she asked me not to shoot the intruders. I just kept thinking about what they would do to that baby in the back room.

Very important advice: The screws attaching your door hinges to the door and the frame are ridiculously short. Pull one out and cry. Replace at least some of them with 4" drywall or deck screws. Make sure you have a deep throw on the deadbolt and consider adding another deadbolt with a thumb turn at knee level. This will buy you time to get on your feet and find your weapon before the bad guys are standing over you in bed. I recommend drilling pilot holes for the long screws.

Once, I was babysitting five kids, took them to the park, and when we returned the front door was left open and pictures on a table in the entry were smashed. I grabbed the youngest, but two of the boys hooted, "Oh boy, we got robbed!" and dashed inside. The hardest choice in the world was debating "Do I leave the boys and take the others to the neighbors, or do I run in after them and put all the kids in danger?" I opted to take the kids I had hold of (one wanted to run after her brothers) to the neighbor and told them to call the police. Then, really fearing for the boys (and hoping pepper spray was enough) I returned to the house. It was terrifying, crunching over broken glass, calling out for them, carefully peeking into rooms. My worst fear was finding someone in there holding the kids hostage. Thankfully, no intruders were inside. The police scolded me that it was foolish to go inside, but I mean..... my job was to keep those kids safe! They were like family. I'm not going to leave 9-year-olds alone in a house.

I always keep my doors locked day or night and have two Doberman pinchers outside that like to appear out of nowhere quietly and a miniature schnauzer and German Shepherd inside. Nobody’s getting in without me knowing.

Just the interesting backstory I found about the purse: A woman and her boyfriend were watching a movie, and fell asleep on the couch. The woman had a job that would start early, and her boyfriend had the day off. So she wakes up and starts getting herself ready, but she can't find her purse anywhere. She looks around the entire house, until she decides to wake her boyfriend up so he could help out with the search At this point she is in panic because she's going to be late if she doesn't find it, and of course she can't leave without it as there was all her important belongings. Her boyfriend suggest she should call to the restaurant they were at earlier, but she is sure she had it with her when they came home. And to prove to her boyfriend that she did indeed have it with her, she remembers the security cameras. Nothing out of the ordinary was happening at the footage, but as she and her boyfriend watch the tape forward, they notice that it had detected movement. Out of curiosity she looks at the tape further and in there you can find the man who had stolen her purse while they were asleep on the couch around midnight.

It has great day vision, the farther away it's a little blurry. kzread.infoUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU Night vision is good but could be better. We are having a hard time figuring out how to set the perfect range. It either seems to pick up and alert every single car that drives down the street, or it only alerts if someone is right in front of the door. Overall, I'm glad we got it.

I remember being a kid and playing outside with my siblings and babysitter and seeing a man walk through our house, and another time being downstairs with my entire family and hearing footsteps come in the door and walk around the main level. A third time my roommate and I were robbed while both nappimg in our bedrooms with the door accidentally unlocked. Why people don't lock their doors is beyond me. I occasionally hear people wiggle my front door handle or attempt to enter a code while I'm inside 😲 Can't believe intruders are so brave.

Everyone keeps praising the girl who saved her sisters and yes she did the right thing and her parents should be very proud but that babysitter that immediately grabbed the child and ran out reacted very quickly and if I was that child's parent I would forever be in debt to that girl. She could've stood around and listened for a minute or even called out maybe thinking someone came home early but instead she grabbed that child and got the hell outta there. Great job to all these kids that did the right thing and definitely saved lives!!! Also the clip at the end has got to be paranormal, I watched it several times and I just cannot see how that could be kids just running and throwing something over the fence. I don't see how the camera could perfectly blur out all of them and blur out what was thrown over the fence.. just my opinion

Just based on the first one: this is why I have all my doors locked even if I'm at home. You don't need to understand a person's motive to enter your house. You just need to make sure there's no way they can. Also, get a security system if you can. My doors also give alerts when they're opened.
