I feel like the Blood and Honey movie was never intended to be good, and no one ever cared if it did well. They made it just because they could, and wanted to be the first to the table when Pooh became public domain.

I think they were trying to go for "so-bad-it's-good" but like a lot of times when filmmakers intentionally try to go for that, the movie just turned out to be "so-bad-it's-stupid." A movie usually only works on the "so-bad-it's-good" level when the filmmakers are genuinely convinced they are making something brilliant but have no idea how badly they're failing (i.e. The Room), but when they purposefully attempt to go for "so-bad-it's-good," the result is usually a movie like Blood & Honey.

The Emoji Movie made $217 million on a $50 million budget. "Jack and Jill" almost doubled its budget. "Epic Movie" made $87 million from a budget of $20 million, as you noted. "Blood and Honey cost $50,000 to make, and grossed over $5 million. So, the joke is on us? Because they keep making movies like this because they make money. Not if you go crazy on the production costs. But if you can keep those costs relatively cheap, you can do quite well.

The real tragedy of the Schumacher takeover of the franchise is not what was made in Batman and Robin, but what wasn't made in Tim Burton's rendition of Batman III and the trajectory of the franchise, which was handed over in wake of Burton's desires to go even darker than the already perceived too dark for children, Batman Returns. Could have had Michael Keaton once again, Billy Dee Williams as Two Face, Robin Williams as the Riddler.

No. It was bad. Period. From George Clooney as Batman, Barbara being Alfred’s niece instead of Commissioner Gordon’s daughter, the poor way they treated Mr. Freeze, Ivy was most accurate but was still a shell of source material, and Bane being so one dimensionally idiotic (who was really a genius)…..and the plot….i kind of wish they’d have brought out the “biff” “bam” graphics during the fights…..then you’d know they were going for all out cheesy/corny…..but alas I think they legitimately thought they were trying to make a serious movie with hints of humor…. That’s not to say one can’t enjoy the movie - lots of people have guilty pleasures. But it’s just bad. And it’s ok to admit it.

It is difficult to explain to people today the effect of the Star Wars Holiday Special had on Star Wars fans. It came mid-way between the first two movies and we had waited over a year for new Star Wars content. It was pre-internet, of course, so there was little information about the next Star Wars Movie and many of us feared that the Holiday Special was a preview of what to expect. Empire Strikes Back was still a year and a half away. It was a long and nerve-wracking wait.

Whoopi has not been good in anything since the original Next Generation days and now that she's fully shown her woke thinking, she should not be spoken of any more.
Super Mario Brothers is not a terrible movie. Yes, it’s a bizarre, flawed and confusing adaptation of the Nintendo mascots but taken on its own merits has some great practical FX, makeup and top tier production design that harks back to extensive sets being built in their entirety before CGI stepped in to make things easier and lazier. Definitely an underrated film and one worth revisiting, especially if you can watch the bootleg cut included on the recent 4K Blu-ray …
Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze was legendary. His one liners are the only reason to watch that movie. Never ceases to crack me up 😂
You have to remember that at this point in his career, Adam Sandler only makes the movies he thinks will be fun. If it isn't fun to _him_ then he doesn't care. And it also doesn't matter how absolute dоgѕhіt the movie is, if he thinks it will be fun to make, he's gonna make it. And the Pooh movie? Because they could. There's got to be some offshoot of the Streisand-Effect whereby the harder a company (Disney) pushes to keep their copyrights from falling into the public domain, once they do people are going to go nuts with them _just because._
They are actually calling it the poohniverse. There's a poster for it out there somewhere. Lol
I actually love the 1993 super mario bros, always have, just as the title has on the poster/vhs & dvd "this is no game, its a live action thrillride" and it delivered on that for it's time, the deleted scenes make it even better.

BATMAN AND ROBIN was a valid project, but they should have tweaked numerous details, even if one could accept the looney Gotham architecture. Still, better to be silly than serious and stupid like the Dark KNight trilogy. CATS had been on stage for yonks, so a movie would have been a perfectly valid project; it was bound to look strange, and did need some tweaking. Adam Sandler should have some sort of lifetime achievement award here: The aren't-we-naughty-at-a-safe-distance of YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN, I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY, FIFTY FIRST DATES (not for the premise, but for Sandler's character)

Anything by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer is good. Theodore Rex was trying to capture the essence of that TV show with the dinosaurs. But they realized it was a bad idea. Not the mama! More like, not the TV movie.
I can totally believe that Cats got made, though, and the reasons are even listed in the video: easy money. Popular source material, stellar cast and money for CGI are usually considered a safe bet overall. The end result is unbelievably terrible, but I can totally believe the people behind it knew they would have cashed in anyway and put as little effort in it as possible.
The Blood & Honey sequel is already out, and they do in fact already refer to it as the Poohniverse 😂

I loved Super Mario Bros and Batman And Robin. I don't care that they are tacky or cartoony, that's what we expected from those kinds of movies back then and at least they werent as campy as the original Batman Series made for TV in the 60s. If you prefer your movies darker or closer to video game precise, then fine but I for one, will never tire of watching them and I dont feel guilty doing so either. I haven't seen Madam Web though and apparently dodged a bullet with this one. Blood & Honey I could see from the trailer that this wasn't my sort of film. I love horror movies but this one just felt wrong. If some people liked it good for them. Everyone has different tastes and whether a movie bombs or succeeds, no one should feel bad for liking what they like.

The Star Wars Holiday Special was a TV special and not a movie. The segments of the special featuring the classic Star Wars characters weren't great, but it was the in-between segment featuring the 70's variety show superstars of the time that were incredibly cringeworthy. The Emoji Movie was bad, but I've seen much worse cartoons. As for Jack and Jill, Adam Sandler went through a phase of not only making dumb idiotic movies but lazy ones as well, as he would make certain movies on locations where he liked to go on vacation and shoot a movie to take advantage of tax write-offs. Jack and Jill was one of the first of that period, but he made the equally repugnant That's My Boy a couple of years later. I remember spending Thanksgiving with my family the year it came out, and after our dinner they all wanted to see that movie. Fortunately, I chose to see The Muppets instead.
White Kevin hart is crazy 😂
I really liked Epic Movie, lol. It has some amazing one liners. It's only problem is it seems to drag on, but that's literally ALL of those types of movies, the parodies of other genre movies, they end up dragging on cause they have so much to work with. Also, after all these years, Super Mario Bros has a certain... charm to it. I'd say it's getting better with age. It still sucks, of course, but it's growing on me for some strange reason.
The Mario bros movie wasn’t trash. It has a cult following. It’s actually a fun, campy romp… but it’s just not a Mario movie. The final fantasy spirits within should have been on this list.
How was the movie based on the sixty's British spy show the avengers not on this list?
There were tons of parodies that were worse than Epic movie and I think that's why it still made its money. For some reason I've watched it more than once I think it's actually palatable how terrible it is where is some of the other parodies I watched weren't even palatable

Well I'm in the minority of thinking the Emoji movie, much like the Angry Birds movie, wasn't that bad...
People who don't consider The Star Wars Holiday Special as a movie, didn't wait for weeks as a child in anticipation for the first Star Wars related release after the first movie only to wonder how it could possibly get worse. Yeah, it got worse just so we could see a parade of muppets, a CGI menace and watching an annoying brat go through puberty in between boring trade negotiations just so a wayward tablespoon of midichlorians could knock up his babysitter. In truth, some things are best left alone, and producers should have stopped milking kids for toy sales long before The Star Wars Holiday Special. I'll take Itchy and Lumpy over Jar Jar any day. I think it became a hot mess the second they tried to explain everything and tie up all loose ends with awful holes in continuity and how it's near impossible now to find a copy of Star Wars where Han shot first! 😮
