Trivia note about The Martian: In the original story, the Chinese Space Agency had a smaller role then they did in the film, but in order to appeal more to a Chinese audience the film made them have a larger role in saving Watney. 1 of the actors who benefited from this change was Benedict Wong who got more screen time in the film & spent more time around the rest of the cast, including Chiwetel Ejiofor. During production, Ejiofor told Wong that he was going to be in the upcoming Marvel film Doctor Strange, so Wong looked it up then discovered there was a character in it named Wong, & he got in contact with Marvel to try out for the role. So, long story short, Benedict Wong being in The Martian led to him becoming Wong in the MCU.

1 thing that I like about WALL-E that not enough people bring up is that if you isolate the parts with just WALL-E the story works, but if you isolate the parts with just the Captain the story also still works. It's 1 of the few Disney films that actually does a subplot that is just as interesting as the main plot.

The vast of night is one of the best movies I can remember where not a whole lot actually happened. The death of George and the two Doc deaths are alike. Doc in Part I: unexpectedly gunned down by terrorists. Assuredly, he's dead. Marty goes back in time and (among other things) writes Doc a warning letter. Doc takes heed. His bulletproofing is part of the altered 1985. All signs say he wasn't wearing it in the opening scene. Survives due to changed timeline. George in Part II: shot by upwardly mobile Biff. Marty goes back and averts the life path Biff was on when he perpetrated that murder. George survives due to changes in the timeline. (Only difference is we don't learn that until III as it's part of the cliffhanger ending in this one.) Doc in Part III: "shot in the back by Buford Tannen over a matter of $80!" Marty goes back in time. Much discussion and improvisation ensues about how not to get anyone shot. Everyone survives due to changes in the timeline. (Except, yes, someone who doesn't watch the deleted scenes just might wonder if Marshall Strickland is taking the day off toward the end, or what.)

What kind of Ghostbusters technicality is that? They're trapping and incarcerating the ghosts, so no one's going to say they're killing them. 👻 Off the top of my head, if anyone wants to make the case that anyone gets killed in the film, you'd want to consider Mister Stay Puft. He's just a short-lived form of Gozer whom they obliterate in fairly short order.
