10 MORE FORGOTTEN Restaurants we NEED BACK - Life in America
Ойын-сауық
‘70s had plenty of good dining options! The food was made with so much love back then. It’s a shame that the best of ‘em didn’t stand the test of time. Let’s look back on popular restaurants from the 1970s that have since faded into oblivion.

Great video becoming a big fan
I loved chi chis and sambos
most of these you have listed I would 100% wanna try, specially Geno's, Sambo, and Bonanza I remember Shakey's ads as a little kid.... I think there is still 1 or 2 nearby
Shakey's was one of the first places to offer a Taco Pizza, which was out-of-this-world delicious. There's still one about a 40 minute drive from my house, but I haven't been to one in years. The one in the town where I grew up played 1920's silent comedies on a continuous loop in the dining room..Harold Lloyd, Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin...great stuff!
In the area I lived we also had Straw hat pizza, which was very like shakey's, interior, movies, sometimes live music. I often wondered if they were an offshoot of Shakey's to allow more diners in an area. An odd one that showed up briefly was Taco charlie, which was literally taco bell with a different name. I think they were just a market test chain fronted by taco bell as ours just became a taco bell one day and nothing else changed.
Shakey's mojo's were golden deep fried potatoes with a crust that tasted like fried chicken...unique!
I loved Chi Chi’s
they were actual depictions.
I liked Sambo's Pancakes than Denny's 🤢 My favorite Bonanza and Shakey Pizza Palor and Fish & Chip than Long John silver I wish all classic will come back again by 2025 or so .🤞

no this is total bullshit, there was no racial anything here because no blacks, there was no discussion of race, nobody gave a shit because no blacks here. Sambo's was great for kids, but eventually adults become dissatisfied with food quality or service. They were all replaced by Denny's, which are still there to this day. Shakey's was awesome, but I'd only went to one which had old time black and white silent films, they made the pizza behind a glass window so kids could watch as they came in. Our one eventually had a coin op arcade area that nobody used. It's now a Mexican restaurant. If you look closely in Blade Runner (1982) you can see a Shakey's sign in the background.
