Hey Folks, Marshall here. After seeing the younger generations enjoy youtube I thought it was about time there was a channel dedicated to a trip down memory lane for us many years young viewers. I'm a one man band so i'll be endeavouring to release 2 video per week across a number of topics and interests. If you enjoy a video do please consider subscribing and turning on notifications.

Friend had an IBM XT for himself close to the price of the lisa. At least it could run a lot of programs. The video forgot water beds, Pool table rooms
Welcome to the age of obesity! Bloody tasty though!
This stuff isn't rich it's middle class. Except the swirl staircase that's rich.
Thanks for the Awesome Memories and Thank You. 🇺🇸🥤🍔🌭🥪🍟🥤🇺🇸
I love your videos man great job
Bettendorfs !
I no longer drink this beer, when I did it was in a bar after work with co-workers.
I was 16 in 1984 so I was right there. I had a rich girlfriend she had her own phone line, that was a sure sign a girl was pampered. We had a central vacuum system and it was pretty cool my parents still have it and use it.
Click bait! Where is the red barn?
I have alot more fun driving my 58 Pontiac than any of the junk they build today.
Back in 1980s there was less traffic and highways weren't dangerous ..as they are today ...much peace and it was rather adventurous to drive those days.
A pillars still collapse. Most 50's cars had the steering gear mounted behind the front suspension so, the steering shaft was short. '64 to '67 GM A-body cars had the gear in front and a long shaft that could possibly ram the steering wheel into the driver (although, I've never seen a car it happened in). In '67, as the video stated, they got a collapsible column. The steering wheels weren't that dangerous, if you ask me. Now, they explode! Loved the '58 Pontiac dash at 4:33. Looks a lot like mine. Hood ornaments got called "pedestrian sights" for a reason.
In Louisville KY we had A and P Winn Dixie and Kroger my mom loved A and P
Loved the Carrol’s restaurants
I liked Sambo's Pancakes than Denny's 🤢 My favorite Bonanza and Shakey Pizza Palor and Fish & Chip than Long John silver I wish all classic will come back again by 2025 or so .🤞
Sure, take all the beauty and style out of the cars. And funny, I don't recall any great piles of bodies on the sides of the road. The real problem is the rise of aggressive drivers with no skill. People used to be more polite behind the wheel. Do I like disc brakes, seat belts, and cars that will go 300000 miles with proper maintenance - absolutely, but I also like bench seats, wing windows, roll-down windows, visibility and headroom. A 1955 Chevy wagon with a modern drivetrain would be my idea of the perfect car - preferably in coral and white.
We had a computer but it wasn’t an Apple Lisa. We didn’t have round beds but waterbeds. We had all those things. I still remember taking Jack Daniel’s miniatures out of the blue and orange bar.
Well, I was only 11 in 89 but I miss it desperately and would literally give anything to be 10 again… Life was so much better then! 😔
Countertop dishwashers still exist though and are used in offices and small apartments...
Oh, yummm... Thank you for sharing...
I was curious about Lady Baltimore cake since hearing it mentioned in a movie (maybe Arsenic and Old Lace). The Pineapple Upside Down cake had been my father's favorite cake which mom made for him every Fathers Day. It was extremely delicious.
I say bring ‘em back, but they would probably be $50 a shot.
In the area I lived we also had Straw hat pizza, which was very like shakey's, interior, movies, sometimes live music. I often wondered if they were an offshoot of Shakey's to allow more diners in an area. An odd one that showed up briefly was Taco charlie, which was literally taco bell with a different name. I think they were just a market test chain fronted by taco bell as ours just became a taco bell one day and nothing else changed.
Didn't realize these things weren't popular anymore. Sad.
It was a lot less people on the road than today, plus people knew how to drive! No cell phones
Your voice over... is it AI or a real person? 🤔
The technology, wasn't there in the 40's and people had common sense then , but it's far superior to a plastic car today where you are worse off, and they didn't go so fast, give me a 50's car any day , and with today's tech they would flourish
Seems like Ford was more safety conscious way ahead of everybody else
Jacuzzi is a brand...all jacuzzies are spas but not all spas are jacuzzies😊
I’m working on a 57 belair wanted one since I was 5 years old would not give it up for anything made today
My parents had a home with the intercom, jacuzzi, central vacuum, basement bar, and a couple of computers and video game consoles. The intercom was more annoying than useful, but then again I was one of the kids.
I loved chi chis and sambos
they were actual depictions.
no this is total bullshit, there was no racial anything here because no blacks, there was no discussion of race, nobody gave a shit because no blacks here. Sambo's was great for kids, but eventually adults become dissatisfied with food quality or service. They were all replaced by Denny's, which are still there to this day. Shakey's was awesome, but I'd only went to one which had old time black and white silent films, they made the pizza behind a glass window so kids could watch as they came in. Our one eventually had a coin op arcade area that nobody used. It's now a Mexican restaurant. If you look closely in Blade Runner (1982) you can see a Shakey's sign in the background.
My parents had a Westinghouse refrigerator/freezer with a push-button single front door[1] Inside at the top, above the freezer (between the two controls) was a "butter keeper" that kept 1/2 pound of butter just cool enough to still be soft (no need for leaving it outside the fridge or having rock-hard butter inside the fridge) It also had 4 tilt-out bins/ shelves in the door, for eggs (each held 8 eggs = 32 eggs) It also had a deli-meat keeper bin just below the freezer ( Bologna or a pound of ground beef with ice crystals) 1.) That particular Westinghouse refrigerator/freezer was in a commercial where it didn't open during a live commercial because a technician forgot to plug it in. The Westinghouse appliances were usually advertised/demonstrated by Betty Furness. On that day, she just happened to not be there when the refrigerator/freezer did not open. Yet everyone remembers her as the person who was demonstrating the refrigerator/freezer on that day.
Shakey's was one of the first places to offer a Taco Pizza, which was out-of-this-world delicious. There's still one about a 40 minute drive from my house, but I haven't been to one in years. The one in the town where I grew up played 1920's silent comedies on a continuous loop in the dining room..Harold Lloyd, Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin...great stuff!
most of these you have listed I would 100% wanna try, specially Geno's, Sambo, and Bonanza I remember Shakey's ads as a little kid.... I think there is still 1 or 2 nearby
Shakey's mojo's were golden deep fried potatoes with a crust that tasted like fried chicken...unique!
How about the compact trash cans.
LOOK At those PRICES,PAMILY PIZZA 4 BUCKS PITCHER OF BEER 2 BUCKS
Great video becoming a big fan
Educate your robot...
Pronounced Treecher
Did you really say Arthur “Trech ers”!?? Omg
AI
Should be like teachers with an R. Fingernails on the chalkboard!
With the traffic of today, let alone the idiots driving now, only short drives to the car show.
People still put central vacuum systems and jacuzzis in new homes!
We had a central vac in our house. It was really convenient and worked great. I miss it. My best friend had an intercom when her family moved into their new home. I thought it was pretty cool and fancy back then. Didn’t know anyone else who had one. I bought myself an awesome neon phone. It could be set to light up when it rang or turned on to stay on. I loved the phone!
I remember when a well-off friend in the late 80's got an early version of the cell phone. It was as heavy as a brick, and it would often cut out if the microwave was on at the same time. :D
How about Wetsons, later on we got a Burger Haven Hazlet N.J.
Shakey's.
