@Jason Prendergast Only united fans count him and he is considered as one of the best goalkeeper of United. But he should be considered as one of the best goalkeeper of all time. And not many people rate him that higher.

VDS has always been respected I don't see how he's underrated. A little overrated perhaps because he wasn't that good same with Schmeichel. Kuszczak was better than VDS but never used. VDS had the reflexes of an old man kind of like Ferguson, made terrible mistakes all the time and cost us matches in the finals against Barcelona. Utd hasn't had too many good keepers but De Gea was good. Onana is a bit clumsy. Kuszczak was good. Carroll was terrible, Foster was terrible, Bailey not that great and Barthez was alright. Not a lot of ground to cover with the goalkeepers.

Not to forget, Peter Schmeichel won the UEFA European Championship with Denmark in 1992.

Sergio Romero is a really underrated keeper! If DDG wouldn't be our Number1 and we couldn't sign anybody to replace him, he would surely do his job!

Barthez was one of the best in his days, especially if you consider his "short" height for a keeper, he was one of the first modern Goalkeepers (Maybe the first) in the world, and just because he made like 3 mistakes doesnt mean anything, and ive seen every game of him at united. it was really a shame that alex, benched and sold him after the real madrid CL loss. He will forever be a Legendary Goalkeeper... TOP 3 Barthez !!

@@geoffbray6996 The IFFHS World's Best Goalkeeper is a football award given annually since 1987 to the best goalkeeper. Barthez won in 2000. That alone shows his class.

I think Peter schmeichel was really great goalkeeper, sad that I didn't see him play during my time, my childhood started with Edwin van der sar.❤️ He's really awesome. But I respect all, and thank you all for what you've done for my fav club Manchester United 🙏 ❤️

@@furypanda4889 So how actually would we go about OBJECTIVELY assesing who is best particulary in a team where anyone is heavily dependent on the other members and it is even worse for the goalkeeper position. Are you better becaise your style is more flashy ? are you better because you are more of a caracther ? Define better the thing is there are way too many variable's is football too really dermine that more wins or less goals against is not even a good standard to go by. Even a percentahe of stopped attempts tells you not much..... But that is tje charm of the game the best does not auto win and best individualigjt never win a price but can still be the best. Therefore a lot comes down to persoal preference.

Bailey at 8 is a disgrace. You could argue all day about wherein the top 6 he’d be but behind Howard and barthez is ridiculous. Personally I’d have les sealey on the list too, loved that crazy man! Rip

its may be nostalgia but i love Barthez, he's not the best Goalkeeper that Man utd has had but his madness is going well with the team of the time, and he will always remind me the galactic team that we had early 2000s

No Les Sealey, Alf Steward or Harry Moger? But you put Barthez, Howard, Romero and Van Der Gouw in. The latter 2 were great but basically understudies. Sealey, Steward and Moger are legends.

Peter Schmeichel once conceded 11 goals in two games. People never remember those things though. He was a brilliant keeper, but even he had some off days. However, he left in 1999. United then wasted 8 years. Messing about in the transfer market on unknowns, unreliable, and Andy gorams. What a waste of time. Taibi, vandergouw, Howard, Carroll...none of them would have warmed a bench at clubs such as Real, bayern, Milan, Barcelona or even Porto. United should have surpassed Liverpool haul of euro champions Cup wins during this time and they didn't, because ? Why didn't he buy van der sar, years before he did. He ended up at Fulham! Wtf. Kahn, casillas, valdes, baia, dida, who did United have? Roy Carroll...and you wonder why I get frustrated. I played fm manager 2010 from 41 to age 73 and I surpassed Sir Alex ferguson as the greatest manager ever. Because I know whats needed between the sticks.

Peter Schmeichel is an outstanding keeper, has a charisma, and is the best goalkeeper of his era, but with all respect, Edwin van der Sar is the best United keeper of all time, very perfect posture, good positioning, excellent reflexes, it is unfortunate van der sar came when he was 35 years old, not something bad but the service period to Manchester United was relatively short.

Stepney only 5 🤔, no Les Sealey, I’d have Gary Walsh or Jim Leighton over Romero
