I get it the season was paused for 4 months, they had to resume in the summer and there were no international tournaments, the guy had the most goals in all competitions out of any player in Europe and he also won a treble including the champions league where he was the top scorer yet no Ballon Dor. Canceling it made sense given the year football had in 2020, but for Robert Lewandowski, that was criminal because he was the obvious winner of the award and he'll never win the Ballon Dor in his career.

The journey of Emiliano Martinez is amazing. He was with Arsenal for a decade, was sent out on loan multiple times and during COVID when Bernd Leno got injured, he was great in goal even helping them win the FA Cup. That earned him a move to Aston Villa where he's been one of the best goalkeepers in the premier league and was important in helping them qualify for European football last season. The biggest highlight of Emiliano Martinez's career is with Argentina and he's known for his antics, annoying behavior, you cannot deny the fact that Emiliano Martinez played a crucial role in helping Lionel Messi cement his legacy. For almost 30 years, Argentina hadn't won an international trophy, they lost multiple Copa America finals and in 2014, lost a World Cup final and they underperformed in multiple international tournaments. He made his Argentina debut in June 2021, a month later helped them win Copa America and was the best keeper of the tournament. World Cup 2022 he didn't make a lot of saves, but he made probably the most important save in World Cup history and that save against Randal Kolo Muani in the World Cup final, the importance and context of the save, he struck an impressive volley that he saved and they ended up winning against penalty shootouts, and without that France would've won the World Cup, Argentina won the World Cup and he won the Golden Glove there as well and made so many big saves helping them win so many penalty shootouts. His rise for club and country over the last 2 years has been impressive and he's a world class goalkeeper. Another thing, he has won 3 trophies with Argentina and since he made his debut for them he's only lost 1 game. Emiliano Martinez has more trophies than losses with the national team.

John Stones Surprise of the Season🔥🔥🔥

John Stones hasn't always had an easy period at Manchester City, at first was inconsistent, had injuries, was in poor form, and wasn't always top of the pecking order and he looked like he would exit the club very soon. This season, he was in the best form of his career. He already excelled at his main position center back, he was used at right back and now in defensive midfield, he dictated the game really well for a center back he was so composed in that double pivot with Rodri and was one of the reasons why Manchester City won the treble. John Stones if he continues playing like this, it's only a matter of time before he gets real recognition because he absolutely deserves praise for how he's been able to be a better player in a new position than in the one where he's been used throughout his career. When he was playing center back, his ball playing qualities where very evident and it shouldn't be a shock that he's shining in midfield.

He has no trophies we know that, we shouldn't use the lack of team trophies to deny the greatness of Harry Kane. He has put up strong goalscoring numbers year in year out, has 3 Golden Boots, 200+ goals while playing on Tottenham and they just continue to get worse and worse, he has carried them every season being able to put up these numbers while playing for the worst team in the top 6 in the premier league the most difficult league in the world, he should be acknowledging what Harry Kane is doing despite playing on Tottenham. Even last season, he scored 30 premier league goals, to have that many goals on a team that finished 8th in the toughest competition in the world in a team that struggles to create, it's volumes spoken about his ability to be that good and still score goals consistently on such a very poor Tottenham team and I get that he should've left a while ago, he's scoring goals for fun on a team that doesn't like winning and for Harry Kane it's absolutely criminal to use team trophies as an argument for why he isn't world class and 30+ league goals and he did that on a team that finished 8th and if he continues scoring goals in his 30s at a consistent rate whether he stays or leaves Tottenham, he'll break the all time premier league goalscoring record and he plays for one of the weakest teams in the top 6.

Kieran Trippier based on what we saw from him last season, he was the best right back in the premier league. During his time at Tottenham after Kyle Walker left, he was first choice at right back and he was excellent and during that period he was a starter for England at a World Cup, Gareth Southgate has always favored him over the years and he has been dependable whenever he selects him. At Atletico Madrid, he was excellent during that season where they won La Liga in 2021 even if he had to serve a 10 week ban for betting rules. When he went to Newcastle it was a risky move from him 18 months ago because they were fighting relegation and last season he was pivotal in helping Newcastle secure champions league football for next season and he was outstanding. It's not just his offensive work, defensively he didn't put a foot wrong there and he was good for some periods at Tottenham, same with Atletico Madrid, at times was a starter for England, but right now Kieran Trippier has played the best football of his career at the age of 32 and he just continues getting better.

You're hearing that Harry Kane. Even during his time at Tottenham, Kyle Walker was seen as one of the best right backs in world football and maybe the best in the premier league but as soon as he left, hadn't won a major trophy and when you are a Tottenham player of course you don't win any trophies. He's been at Manchester City for 6 years and since 2017 has won 14 trophies including 5 premier league titles, a champions league title, 2 FA cups, 4 Carabao Cups, 2 Community Shields it's a preseason trophy but that counts. He's been solid at Manchester City, at right back he's great at breaking up attacks due to his pace and positioning, also his offense can be underrated he was good at getting forward at times, and last season Pep Guardiola changed his formation and there were doubts as to whether he fits his new system and can play in it, he lost his place initially but towards the end, he didn't put a foot wrong and in that second leg against Real Madrid, he shut down Vinicius Junior one of the best players in European football and shone at right center back and he has shown his versatility over the years being able to perform at both center back and right back at the highest level at both club and international level. Moral of the story, if you wanna progress leave Tottenham and not only has Kyle Walker been 8/10 at Manchester City, he's won trophies which is something Tottenham have lacked for 15 years.

Luka Modric is a machine, the guy just never ages, it's a joke. Another thing that makes his career extraordinary is when he was 27 when he made the move to Real Madrid, Luka Modric had no major trophies to his name, oh wait he played for Tottenham anyways and in a span of 10 years he's won 20+ trophies or more with Real Madrid including a Ballon Dor, 5 UCLs, 3 La Liga titles, 2 Copa Del Rey titles, 4 Spanish Super cup titles, 4 UEFA Super Cup titles, 5 Club World Cup titles, 23 trophies with Real Madrid, and he's been one of their most consistent players in the last 8 years and is one of the best midfielders of our generation and at this age he's still going strong from strength to strength and like I said any player that wants to have a career and win trophies, leave Tottenham.

Harry Kane is in a dillema. The only option for him in England is Man Utd, but Man Utd is still in rebuilding stage and Man Utd isnt guaranteed trophies. I think Harry Kane is out of options and his best chance at trophies was Manchester City and even if he joins Manchester United, how many trophies will he win. If he wants trophies the best options for him is Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and you're right the family is important because they look settled in London. It might get to the point where he just stays at Tottenham, he's in the prime of his career and shouldn't be on a rebuilding team and even if they won a trophy last season, Manchester United aren't ready to compete for the big titles and I don't know what'll happen with him, but if he decides to stay at Tottenham and renews, can you blame Harry Kane when he doesn't have a lot of options and we'll say he lacks ambition and cares more about scoring records than taking the easy way out and win proper trophies and family is important in players' futures and lives too and would they be open to moving to a new country, he also has kids too that go to schools there.

Many thought that Thiago Silva couldn't do it in the premier league. He was great at PSG and Milan, he's aged like fine wine at Chelsea and since he's been there aside from his first game, he hasn't put a foot wrong being excellent in defense at 38, in the toughest league in the world and on a team that has expensive signings and had multiple managerial changes, he remained consistent and was the best player on the team. Thiago Silva's defensive nous positioning and determination has been part of why he's been able to excel as he aged which is a testament to the greatness and longevity as a player and he has both of them.

the only reason why benzema got better with age is because ronaldo left. benzema had to play second fiddle to ronaldo for 9 years. As soon as he left, he started scoring most of the goals.
