Wow! I never thought about how many responsibilities flight attendants have. People should have more respect for them, they are basically the Police, EMS, and Firefighters in the air. I wish the airlines would promote videos like this for customer awareness.

flight attendants probably have mental issues to willingly get on planes that much. something's bound to go wrong eventually, as it had many times before.

This is the type of information that needs to be shown to bored high school students. Encourage them to learn as much as possible....shown them how simple....and eventually more complicated principles are applied in real life.

This is really eye opening for how much logistics, work and effort goes into making the airline industry work. It's something one as a passenger never sees and it's frankly quite baffeling the efforts needed to make the huge machinery that is the airline industry go around. Experience, ontime (hopefully) and safe. Interesting😃

They are all part of a MDT (multidisciplinary team) to ensure air safety, be it on the ground, or in the air. To remove runway lights twice a week to clean them so pilots aren't flying into a blackhole, to the canine handlers, the cooks, the cleaners, the mechanics, the controllers, the pilots and the cabin crew, all of these people sing from the same hymn sheet; 'air safety'. Only cog in the works is the unpredictable passengers that make fools of themselves by being intoxicated, and jeopardising all of the hard work that has been done to ensure our safety.

I don't know... the fact that they put themselves on a plane multiple times a day everady.... if it was me that fact would start eating at me pretty hard... my luck is pretty bad so i'd be expecting the worst eventually.... not like i have a fear of flying... i just would really hate to put the fate of my life in multiple mecahincs and pilots hands constantly. All just for a job as a flight attendant... plus they go through some stressful shit with passengers... evreyones job sucks in some way and everyone desreves respect for helping the world go round... plus if I'm flyin I'm not gonna eat any of those omletts or shitty food those people made so to me their job is kinda worthless... very robotic and easily preformed... if i could listen to a podcast and get decent pay to actually support a family doing the job... i probably could do it for the rest of my life... only danger seems realtively the same as normal day to day activities.

I recall when such meals were served on airliners. Now I guess only First Class gets it, huh? Now, unless I am going to different country, I drive. Eat at restaurants where The food is cooked while you watch, or go to the Jon. Check into a motel and sleep on a real bed. Crossed the Pacific 10 times in the Military. The food served was great. Then, flew to Germany. Food was still pretty good. 8 years later. Flight to the P.I. Box meals. C-rats were better. Now? I don't fly. Airlines have Too many customers to care much about keeping passengers comfortable and happy. Oh well, I just travel by car. Eat well. Sleep well. Stop when and where I want. And the cost is no more that the plane ticket costs. However! Continental Airlines was outstanding in all respects! Eastern came in Second. Pan Am was good. Delta, was fair. These are just my opinions, and no insult was/is intended.

Hmm as a military pilot who flies large planes, I land at many airfields with poorly maintained lights (or fields that don't have many lights in the first place) and it's not that bad... On the other hand, I must say that flying an ILS, the plane does not land itself. The pilot still has to land the plane... There are different versions of ILS that take you down to different heights above the runway. 200 feet is the most common at non-major airfields. The pilot has to fly the rest by hand and actually land the thing.
