These are the kind of examples that are so informative for educating people on the nuances and complexity of lighting and rigging on a set. I also can feel the passion and love from you when watching this. Great work from a great teacher. Thank you!❤

This was so jam packed with great information! Thank you. Loved seeing the set ups with the final deliverable. Seeing this really makes me want to buy that Godox F600Bi.

As a UK based DP i'm constantly amazed at the amount of light, grip and people you guys are able to throw at relatively simple set ups. In the UK we never seem to have the time or budget for such intricate, controlled set ups. Normally its just myself and sound arriving on location being creative with what we have and most importantly not taking too long over the set up because it's usually a very busy day and were already behind schedule....... sometimes behind schedule even before we've even started the day 😀

Yes, there are always levels to production. I’m only going to show shoots that can afford a gaffer😂

is it my imagination or are there far fewer Skypanels these days 🤔 seems like not long ago 1x1 and 2x1 rgb panels were a staple, my Nova rarely comes off the shelf now but i thought that was just me

It depends what kind of work you do. Certain kinds of set-ups are made for panels, just like zip lights back in the majority tungsten days. On location we used the ubiquitous 1x1 and 1x2 because that’s what we got familiar with when we got started with LEDs, first the Astra 1x1 from Lite Panels and then the ARRI 1x2 Skypanel. As COB units grew in output and tunable white or full color capabilities, we started to shift to hard lights that we could use hard or make soft. If you’re not lighting cycs or other large ares with even light, there is less need for panels. Panel manufacturers then introduced the Hard panel concept to answer the desire to have both qualities of light in a single unit. So it’s not just you😀

You need to be clear which unit it is being created for and they will build to order. If it is a unit for which they have never designed a grid, you will need to provide exact dimensions.

I really hate the activ system. A shame because the concept is great.

Why hate? I just switched and really dig it. The dana adapter is definitely a pain to have to deal with.

I actually really like it. I have one set of sticks with a standard head and one with an Activ head. I prefer the Activ.
