I like how Nails, who had been out of jail for some time, shows up in prison orange like he hadn't had time to change since getting out.

@Jonathan Esser Yeah. But there was still something different about him. There was a real menace to him. But he was an IRL idiot and IIRC tried to physically fight Vince over a contract dispute. He was never going to be more than an upper-midcarder, but still what a freaking dumb move. He could have at least had a solid career. Maybe in the Attitude Era they could have went even darker with the character like the did with Boss Man himself.

@Jonathan Esser I believe he was. Which, if the fight didn't kill his chances in the company, that was him completely burning the bridge. Kinda surprised that his wiki page said he was still wrestling as late as 2000. Don't know how any promotion trusted him after all of that

That Nailz beating was so amazing though, because it left the crowd in stunned silence. You didn't see that kind of brutality on WWE TV often back then. They laid that in so stiff and Boss Man was just so damn good selling it that it was legitimately hard to watch. Because Boss Man was kind of marketed as a big friendly teddy bear by then to everyone but 'heels', and it looked like he got beaten half to death.

WWF had just released a "Posters" magazine, where the whole thing was just 4 folded up double sided posters. There was one that had Undertaker on one side and Warrior on the other. And that Funeral Parlor segment terrified me so much as a kid that I displayed the side with The Undertaker because I was afraid he'd come out of the other side of the poster and kill me if I displayed the Warrior side.

It's funny, in a shoot interview Jake The Snake said that Savage got paranoid that the Cobra was still venomous. So Savage forced Jake The Snake to let the Cobra bite him to make sure it was safe. So out of revenge Jake The Snake said before the match he "paint brushed the hell" out of the cobra to piss off so the cobra would bite Savage hard.

I relate to this video so much!! I was born in 87 so this is exactly what I grew up watching.. I'll never forget that morning when I saw Papa Shango make the Ultimate Warrior throw up.. I sat there thinking, "If Papa Shango can do that to the Ultimate Warrior, imagine what he can do to me?!".. From that day on, anytime my Father got tickets to house shows, I made him check the matches to see if Papa Shango was gonna be there because I was terrified 😂 Also, I remember being scared of Nails too.. When they showed Big Boss Man all beat up, I thought Nails was unstoppable.. I also remember buying Nails' action figure (I have 150 of them) lol.. The Barbershop set with Shawn Michaels is an all time moment.. Crazy they way our mind changes.. Great times, though!

Hey look! Its Cultaholic looking down on the old school, harder core wrestling! Let us hope they get views as they diss on the eras that were just 'to violent and grating', only to grab views as these are the only eras fans really care about it. Keep it up guys!

I already knew that wrestling was all a work at the point thanks to my dad, but I still remember that beating Boss Man got from Nailz on Superstars today, one of the most brutal beatings of all time, work or not....

Nailz and bezerker were two of a few nuts guys on roster then. Nailz spitting and drooling in his interviews when he was talking tough and bezerker use to be called the Viking when he first debut in wwf... Bezerker would always holler out (Husss...Husss.. Husss... 😂😂😅😂😂😂😂.

The most unsettling one to a young me was the beating Ron Bass gave to Beefcake. Even with the big red X over it, you saw him being dragged around by the neck and Bass using something to cut him repeatedly.

0:58 so true in the western world I guess, same here in Germany - that’s why I watched it secretly cause my mother didn’t allowed it 😂 This video catch the spirit of why we watched WWF as a kid during 80/90s so damn in a nutshell by its 12 minutes more then most of all other videos relating to this area… and we didn’t have internet back then.

Things that made wrestling popular in the Hulkamania era that fell into the PG category were things that had NEVER been done before. Angles, gimmicks, storylines, pyro, etc., introduced to the business all elevated it to new heights. However, it came to an end because there became a limit on the variety of things that could be done FURTHER limited by the PG label. You can't see the same things routinely done over and over again and continue to find drama in it. Wrestling is not like a new movie that just hit the box office. It is sort of like the circus that comes to town once a year only this business is on your TV multiple times a week with the same characters practically. So, in short, the business saw it's best days already.

That Beefcake Ron Bass spurs angle was totally censored on Superstars. They cut to to Sean Mooney(?) in the studio saying WWF won't allow this kind of violence to be seen on TV for our younger viewers an did a hokey job of trying to give a blow by blow of what was happening. They did teh same exact thing when Earthquake squashed Damien.

Undertaker wasn't the first that berserker tried to kill with the sword after that on a 1993 episode of superstars berserker faced Mr perfect and whilst outside the ring berserker swung the sword at perfects head only to hit the ring post when he ducked.
