I would've thought for sure Kigali, Rwanda would make the list. The President has even made it a law that every last Saturday of the month for 3 hours its citizens tidy up in an effort called umuganda.

In Russia, the problem is the same - terrible air quality and if you drive a few km/miles outside "tourist friendly areas" you will find all kinds of rubbish - everywhere - inside private areas - in parks and large piles - just thrown by people.

I am surprised that Moscow was not on the list. I went 4 years ago, and it is a very clean City.

Very surprised Copenhagen is No.1. Visited Copenhagen in 2014 and was put off by graffiti and trash in metro and train stations. Not sure about 2024.

Shibuya and Shinjuku are the dirtiest areas in Tokyo for beginner travelers, so I suggest you visit other sophisticated suburbs.

Singaporeans like me are taught from young not to litter and naturally we don’t do it, however, if you’re from Malaysia and later in your life decided to convert to become a Singaporean, it’s hard to tell as your habits are already established! 😂

Thankfully no Chinese cities. Right before the pandemic, I visited the Guangzhou zoo and right before me, some old man let his grandson poop in public when the toilet is just 30 seconds away. It’s crazy there are people who think the Chinese cities are cleanest… they really haven’t seen enough. 😂

That Oslo is on the list of the cleanest cities in the world is not correct. I live in Oslo and the city is not very clean. Actually it is one of the dirtiest. When I often visit cities in Europe that have a very clean environment, I am ashamed about Oslo. So this list is bullshit.😎

I'd have said the cleanest city I have visited is Reykjevic, Iceland. They have thermal elctricity and thermal hotwater and it is windy, so the air is sparkling and crisp, and the river is as blue as I've ever seen. The walls of the houses and buildings are spotless too. (I have been to most of the cities on this list and agree they are very clean.)
