The classic big man downtown battle. Great to watch.

This national championship had a bit of an old school feel to it. Both teams played very tenacious defense. However, the UConn defense was much more suffocating. The Perdue players were tired. Despite the effort Perdue displayed, their legs were gone. A lot of air balls shot from Perdue players as well as many attempts hitting the front of the rim. UConn played tremendous defense by not allowing Edey to set up in his comfort areas on offense. Congrats to UConn.

Edey did score 37 points and grabbed 10 rebounds . Also blocked 3 or 4 shots so I would say he did his part . Also he got very little or no rest. That being said if UConn hadn't defended as hard as they did he would have got. 45 points so hats off to UConn. Painter would have been wise to sit Loyer down early in the second half and put someone taller and more physical in to help Edey and Kaufman underneath and maybe get a midrange basket. Purdue sure wasn't going to win it from the three point line.

@@bold58 Edey played a tremendous game in the National Championship game. Big men especially in today's modern basketball is a risk at the next level, but Edey will definitely go high in the draft. I will be curious how many teams may or will pass up on Edey. My prediction is Edey will most likely drop in the lap of a current playoff contending team in the NBA if teams pass him up. I hope Edey does not get selected to a bottom feeding NBA team.

That's all I was thinking too. Did Purdue even take five threes the entire game?? I've watched Purdue a few times this year, and they've got some pretty good long-range sharpshooters. What was their coach thinking??

UConn's defense was responsible for Perdue shooting awful from 3-point range. UConn's offense wasn't all that spectacular either from Perdue's defense. But UConn had a better overall roster and did enough to prevent Perdue's big man Zach Edey from receiving the ball at his usual comfort spots.

Open looks and can't hit. Poor shooting by both teams for so many possessions. Even tons of misses at the FT line.. Wow

Edey was ok, but was definitely out of position defensively, way more than you'd like to see if you are picking 1st in the draft. Some of the put backs and offensive rebounds UCON was getting probably could have been stopped.

Right ! I think because Edey got very little or no rest it contributed to his tiredness on defense. Painter probably should have sat Loyer down 2 minutes into the second half and sent Furst who is 6' 10" in the help Edey and kaufman underneath. Might have stopped a couple of UConn baskets and made the game a little closer. Even at Purdue's Very best they would have maybe been even with UConn.

👀👀👀 is it me but all the easy miss shot make college hoop unwatchable

Tenacious defense from both teams did that.

Purdue should have use the 3's more often and that would free up their big guy from being double teamed and reduced pressure on him. They became one dimensional and predictable.

Yep longer guards and they pressed Purdue from no less than halfcourt. This prevented Purdue from getting into offensive rhythm, i was thinking the same thing.

UCONN has the WHINE down PAT!

Last 8 mins was already over for Purdue. UCONN PLAYERS are stronger and out smart Purdue center man game. ZE was speechless...

UConn was wrestling with Edy and the zebras refused to call anything! The best team won but...the refs earned their bonus!

For the 2nd straight year, the womens game was better than the mens game... please do one shining moment for the women game please..

Women’s game has better headlines but the skill level was not on par with the men. Just enjoy both games, trying to compare women’s to men’s sports is doing a disservice to the ladies who balled out

The games were all ugly. If I were an NBA scout, I would honestly have difficulty picking any standout college players from all of this year's tournament games.

Is it me or the women can shoot better jumpers than the guys.

Why didn't the refs call Edey for throwing elbows? He will need elbow pads in the NBA if this continues. So glad UCONN won.

Purdue is awful, they suck so bad. How the hell did they even make this far??? Did no other team come to the tournament. Because I cant see them even beating a high school team
