If you are looking for a plaza style skatepark that is a little bit out there and a little bit different, then this park might be worth a visit. And if you don’t like it, there are two more skateparks of sorts in Point cook to visit. But we are here to talk about Salty!
Salty is a ledges only skatepark and there is not a transition or rail to be seen! The ledges are designed as big slabs of concrete almost like cards that are stacked on top of each other. It creates some nice angles and lots of transfer options. It also has some basic low ledges that you can learn on. Let’s quickly chat about the edging. It is made from a stainless steel and you may require extra wax to get it to slide as it can grip like a mofo if you don’t.
Also at 3:00pm the school across the road finished as the skatepark gets busier than the apple store on iPhone launch day!
This skatepark was lots of fun and it was fun thinking of all the possibilities. However, I am going to be tough on the score because a skatepark with a few ledges isn’t really a good skatepark for everyone. I give it 2 VBs out of the six pack.
