I search for years to find a church that taught the Bible. I thank God for these verse-by-verse; line-by-line teachings. God Bless you, Skip.

I couldn’t agree more with the woman that thanked you for Wednesday nights. I’ve been searching for a church that does this as well and have come up empty handed. Thank you Pastor Skip for still reading through the Bible, leading your church through a Bible study, and sharing with us! Such a treat, God bless

Today Israel has the Iron Dome and at least 3,000 tanks, of which over 400 are the Merkava. They also have the draft for men & women, resulting in a force of about 164,000 active personnel and well over 400,000 reservists. This Armed forces is considered amongst the finest in the world. Their Arab(primarily Muslim) neighbors have now chosen to cooperate with the Israeli Intelligence services, and are slowly(relatively speaking) establishing diplomatic ties with the state of Israel. This suggests that they recognize the Jewish state's right to exist. The only reference I will give is Wikipedia. I know that many universities do not recognize Wikipedia but the vast majority of the #'s given in Wikipedia have proven to be correct, so I trust it for certain subjects.

Thanks Pastor Skip. Maybe I like animals too much and I know these animal sacrifices were prescribed by God in Leviticus, but slitting the throats and spilling the blood of 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep still seems like overkill. I mean by the time you get to oxen number 11,435 and sheep number 100,789, the place has to be a bloody mess. Is God going to be that much more pleased if you continue? Many unbelievers point to these animal sacrifices as us worshipping a bloodthirsty God. I've heard some say it would mean more if the one making the sacrifice cut off their own finger or toe rather than killing an "innocent" animal. Of course, this also provides the opportunity to talk about Jesus as the Lamb of God who shed His blood for the sins of us all. I should also point out that many of these unbelievers who get upset about the animal sacrifices aren't nearly as upset about Planned Parenthood "terminating" over 1000 unborn children everyday. Finally, verses 9:6-9 talks about the consequences of abandoning God and I think this country can expect pretty much the same results. Excellent comments near the end about not letting the culture poison and compromise the church. God bless.

Very good point about how gratuitous this animal massacre is. After 142,000 dead animals the temple must have been a swimming pool of blood knee-deep. The biggest difference between animal sacrifice and Jesus' sacrifice is that the animals didn't consent. Jesus did. Christians always ignore that.
