The Old version of the comps back in the day was great but....there are so many great subs out there with better price and better TS parameters they just didn't keep up till the new Qs imo. They come with a price tag that makes me look at other subs in the same (or less) class. Good vid

4 15'' will be the way to go. That kicker sounds real nice. I used to run 2 kicker solo baric saw blades in a seal box, in 1987 box style maxima. Best sounding system I ever had. Amplifier was a kicker ZR600

I have 2 12 comp r’s and they seeing clean 1400 watts off a stinger 2k @2ohms in my daily and they ain’t no slouch💯🤐

These comp-r speakers from kicker were always great at punching way above their weight. I still recommend these subs to people who want a budget build that still goes like crazy. Dude you keep swinging and hitting home runs with your content. Keep it up bro we need more people like you in the car audio scene making content like this! :D People who trash-talk these subs don't know what they're talking about either, lol.

The comp r subs are terrific. I put two of them in a sealed box with a jl amp in my truck. They get low and sound amazing.

I have 4 Kicker comp r 12s on a Rockford fosgate t2500 @1 ohm and my shit SMACKS!!! Daily! 5-6 years strong on these subs! Never let me down😊

If it a 2 ohm or 4 ohm dvc sub make sure both vc are hook up. I had one and i blew it on a prime 500. When i pull it out only one vc was hook up.

dude these things were survivors i tourtured tf out of these for 2 years i had em mis matched and all clipped and shit on a old walmart amp and a stinger 2k watt amp i bottomed it out the whoue time it never failed me until my mismatched sub in the other chamber blew and sent the kicker with it that thing is a survivor bro i even tore half the spider lol

I think the 3 15’s setup would be killer….

That’s what I have right now a kicker r 12 and a jl Audo jx 500 amp just waiting to save up for a box and I’m ready to install

Doom 6 10 inch woofers that would be sick can they small and they handle low notes very well

The compC handle more power than advertised as well I got the db14 hooked up to 2 compC 10s and my bass knob stay turned to the max🤣 I plan on upgrading to the compR 10s soon so it’s good to see they can take some power

I have two 12in Kicker comp r , with a Kenwood 1000w amp, I brought them in ‘09, I used them until ‘12. Since then they’ve been sitting for 12 years in a storage room in my home… they were in excellent condition when I stopped using them, had them facing the wall the entire time.. I want to hook them back up. What advice would be most helpful/effective to restore moisture to the rubber seal… ?? Do you think they are already dry rotted….also they are in a box… but it’s made for 10in woofers…. I was told when purchased that it would improve quality of sound… but I never switched boxes

I had 2 comp r 12 on a smart 3k taramps u have to put the subs in sealed box if u want them to handle high power. They slapped the shit outta my 81 cutlass

Man thatd be amazing. Any help will go a long way. Ide send pictures if i could. There a metal cone. With some foam on the very outside of the cone. Nice spiders. And a magnet thats the literal size of the front face of the sub.

So: a 1,000w RMS amp would be able to go full tilt for at least 30 min straight or would it start getting warm before? Or would you advise i keep 600-700 watts RMS for 30+ minute listening sessions?

That’s hard to say bro. It depends on what amp it is and if your clipping or not.

jp23 would slam a pair comp r 12s or 15s in theory you should be able to run 4 comp r 12 or 15s duel 2 ohms finel ohm 1 at the amp i been thinking about doing a kicker 4 12 or 4 15 6th order on a on my cab 22 if i need more power id just get another cab 22 amp but kinda waiting to see what these new kicker q class subs are looking like when they come out

Definitely have to be careful because they will get hot fast. That’s why I say it don’t take a lot of power to push them at all. A 1,000 watt amp would do just fine on these
