I am 54 years old, and I love the fact that I am reliving all the new wave, post punk, dark wave, and underground music from the 1980's, and it lives today in Russia. Although I do not understand the language one bit, the vibes instrumentally & vocally embraces me like an emotional blanket.

Был долгое время в апатии и дне сурка, этот час, этот вечер просто выкатился из всех проблем и прилип к креслу. Чувство, что всё налаживается, но на деле завтра будет всё то же самое, что и вчера. I listen to this when I'm getting depressed to appreciate the beauty of loneliness and to become depressed with purpose. To deal with all the emotional inner storms of insecurity and self-loathing in a healing and restorative way. To appreciate being sad and acknowledge that at times I'm also vulnerable, and that things could be worse but I can still do them better. Intential depression, also know as appreciating and being thankful for evetyhing you have is also called being melancholic. You become melancholic. It's a beautiful feeling of acceptance of what is, feeling empty and fulfill, dyfunctional and robotic at the same time. You just are. And there is beauti in not thinking for a while. Or at least there is rest in it. rest for your weary mind.

@@satamoto6488 economy is so broken and you have to work like a slave in order to pay the bills, you can not save up enough money for the future, can't afford to buy a house nor to leave some stability for your children, here in Brazil with the new president we can't retire from work before 70 it's already hard to work from 16 to 60 (the old law) wonder to 70? In the long road you're living like a ant, living to work and work for the living, we don't have distress points in most of the country, specially if you're Sao Paulo citizen, the big city overwhelm you, also there's a lot of violence, bandits and drug dealers everywhere else in the country, technology is really expensive here (I believe it's the same in Russia) so we pay almost 3 times what a North American, South Korean or Japanese guy pays to purchase stuff like computers, cellphones and etc, almost over 6 times for a car (and I'm not lying) and the food, which is produced here is about 2 times more expensive than in the rest of the world, living in Brazil is horrible, although the country is so beautiful, things are so fucked up down here. No wonder why suicide ratio is growing this much in Brazil nowadays.

And sometimes nostalgia of old days, when everything didn't absolutely fucked up like now(it's actual for ich generation before 2000). And sometimes it's a philosophical thoughts. As a teenager I listened to British bands like Joy Division and the Cure, and I still do, but this music makes me feel like that again, like there's no hope but there still is, it's the ultimate existentialist pharmakon putting the fact that life is both meaningless and worthwhile at the same time into music

Used to listen to Russian music like this all the time on internet radio stations. Not a fan of calling it "doomer" music though--just call it mellow/melodic Russian rock. Though these playlist seem to be quite viral probably due to the title and thumbnail. Glad it gets people to listen to these songs, for whatever reason they came here.

@@idksomethingedgy2265 actually it's coldwave. It branched off of post-punk's genre and used a lot more dissonant (sad) sounding tones. The cure was one of the band's that inspired coldwave artists today.
